The invention discloses a mold string conveyor (1) having a mold extraction device. The mold string conveyor (1) is configured for providing support for a mold string (300) while stepwise displacing said mold string (300) forward along a displacement path. The mold extraction device further comprises an inferior trapdoor (2) provided along the displacement path between a first stretch (11) and an adjacent, second stretch (12) of said mold string conveyor (1). The trapdoor (2) may comprise a hinged plate (21) that opens downwards, such that any mold (310) resting on the plate (21) when in the horizontal position will fall down below the conveyor (1).

L'invention trouve une application particulière dans le domaine de la fonderie dans lequel sont utilisés des carrousels dont les sections de plateforme sont équipées de moules recevant un métal liquide pour la fabrication de pièces moulées. Abstract:
In a method of extracting castings (1, 2, 3) from moulds in a mould-string plant, the downstream-most mould (1) is gripped by a robot gripper (9) and made to cooperate with an engagement member (14), the latter first penetrating into the mould adjacent the casting (4) and then pulling the latter away from the mould. By proceeding in this manner it is possible to achieve a reliable extraction using relatively simple equipment and procedures. Other types of engagement members could be suctions cups or electromagnets.

A number of stationary liners are longitudinally secured in parallel rows on the upper surface of a long hollow frame in the lateral direction, and several sets of movable liners are engaged in the gaps between the stationary liners so that they can move laterally and raised freely. A movable frame is so supported by rollers in the hollow frame as to be capable of being laterally guided. Several sets of lifting cylinders are installed on the upper surface of the movable frame, base plates are secured to the upper ends of the lifting cylinders, leg plates facing the movable liners project from the upper surface of each base plate, and the movable liners are secured to the upper ends of the leg plates. A guide cylinder for the movable frame is installed at the lower position in the vicinity of the side of the hollow frame, it is moved continuously in the engaged state on the upper surfaces of the stationary and movable liners to move a sand mold extracted from a molding machine, and the weight of the sand mold is supported by the movable liners during the feeding of the sand mold to reduce the friction with the stationary liners. The movable frame supporting the movable liners is supported via the rollers and is moved during the feeding of the sand mold, thereby feeding the sand mold with a light pressure to moderate the pressure applied to the sand mold, which could damage it.
