Abstract: The invention relates to an extrusion device (100) for forming as a thin strip a product based on a rubber mixture, the device including: - a rotating roller (112) with a groove (112R) in the form of a continuous helix made on the outer surface (112a) of the roller, the groove including several striations (112Ra) arranged one beside the other in the direction of movement of the mixture, and the striations being spaced apart from one another so as to create a thread of predetermined pitch; and - a vault bearing, on its inner surface oriented towards the roller, projecting threads so as to delimit with the surface of the roller a chamber for plasticizing the mixture; in such a way that the roller and the vault are assembled such that thread crests created by the helix and the crests of projecting threads on the vault are substantially in contact with one another.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a tube assembly includes surrounding an outer surface of a cured rubber hose with a thermoplastic layer, the cured rubber hose extending along a length between a first end and a second end and having a first shape along its length, the thermoplastic layer surrounding the cured rubber hose along at least a portion of the length. The cured rubber hose surrounded with the thermoplastic layer is molded into a second shape different than the first shape. The cured rubber hose is retained in the second shape by the thermoplastic layer. A tube assembly includes a cured rubber hose and thermoplastic layer surrounding the rubber hose along at least a portion of the length of the cured rubber hose. The cured rubber hose has been cured in a first shape along its length and the thermoplastic layer retains the cured rubber hose in a second shape.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for sinter forging a precursor powder to form a film may reduce or eliminate the stress in the film and may facilitate processing of continuous length of films such as ceramic films for use in batteries. The precursor powder can be provided on a substrate and is simultaneously heated and pressed in a pressing direction parallel to a thickness of the film so as to sinter and densify the precursor powder to form the film in a sinter forging area. Notably, in a plane perpendicular to the pressing direction, there are no lateral constraints on the sinter forging area or the material received therein.
