Abstract:
A method for producing a decorative substrate (20)comprises the steps of first, etching a surface of a non-porous and rigid substrate (30) to produce a roughened surface (33) of the substrate (30); subsequently, depositing a base coating (41) onto the roughened surface (33) of the substrate (30); drying said substrate until the base coating (41) is completely adhered on the substrate (30); jetting liquid material onto the base coating (41) of the substrate to form an image printed surface (51) and applying a protective coating (61) onto the image printed surface (51) of the substrate (30) and drying it completely at ambient temperature. Such decorative substrate (20) provided with printed images on its surface are resistant to water, microorganisms growth and common non-acidic household detergents.
Abstract:
Compositions, methods, apparatuses, kits, and combinations are described for neutralizing a stain on a surface. The compositions useful in the present disclosure include a composition that is formulated to be applied and affixed to a surface. If desired, the composition may be substantially removed from the surface to remove a portion or substantially all of the stain before being affixed to the surface. If a user desires to remove the composition from the surface, the composition is formulated to be removed by a number of methods including, for example, vacuuming, wet extraction, chemical application, and the like. If the user desires to affix the composition to the surface in a permanent or semi-permanent manner, that composition may be affixed to the surface by applying energy thereto in the form of, for example, heat, pressure, emitted waves, an emitted electrical field, a magnetic field, and/or a chemical. The compositions may also be utilized in the form of a kit or in conjunction with a design device, such as a stencil, to control the application of the composition to create, for example, a pattern on the surface.
Abstract:
A quick-release paint roller (10) having a roller cover (14) wherein the paint roller (10) includes a pair of ends caps (44, 46) wherein the inner end cap (46) has a hub (48) with a nipple (50) extending therefrom, the nipple having a head portion and an annular groove (54). The handle assembly (12) includes a housing having an opening configured to receive the nipple of the roller cover, a roller support (36) having an elongated shaft (36). The handle assembly (12) further includes the latching mechanism (30) movable between a latched position and a release position, the latching mechanism including an actuator (32) and a latch. When the actuator is in the latched position, movement of the roller cover (14) in a direction along the axis of rotation away from the housing is prevented. A latch spring (84) for biasing the actuator toward the latched position is provided, and an ejector spring (82) acting upon the nipple, wherein the ejector spring (82) urges the nipple (50) out of the opening.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a decorating strip (10) for joining two coloured areas on a surface such as an interior wall of a building. The strip covers the join between the two coloured areas. The strip (10) is separated into three regions. The first region (12) abuts the first coloured area (1) and is the same colour as the first coloured area (1). The second region (16) abuts the first coloured area (2) and is the same colour as the second coloured area (2). The third region (14) has the first colour and second colour merging into one another.
Abstract:
A system for making an ornamental seal suitable for the housing of a small electronic device of any shape and possessed of any pattern selected on the spot, adaptable to change of the housing and to addition and change of the pattern of the seal. Data about the shape and dimensions of the housing of a small electronic device and data about the pattern are sent to a client computer through network communication or by transportation of a CD-ROM to supply the data to a printer with a cutting function connected to the client, thus making a sticking seal having a shape suitable for a specified housing and having a specified pattern printed thereon.
Abstract:
A process for making a material with reflecting and refracting properties, consisting of successive steps in which a support is prepared and then treated and/or coloured with inks, paints, or other suitable products, and wherein a plurality of spheres or microspheres is then applied to said support, said spheres or microspheres being made of vitreous and/or ceramic and/or plastic material and being suited to reflect and refract the light incident on them.
Abstract:
Compositions, methods, apparatuses, kits, and combinations are described for permanently or temporarily re-designing, decorating, and/or re-coloring a surface. The compositions useful in the present disclosure include a decor product that is formulated to be applied and affixed to a surface. If desired, the decor product may be substantially removed from the surface before being affixed thereto. If a user desires to remove the decor product, the decor product is formulated to be removed by a number of methods including, for example, vacuuming, wet extraction, chemical application, and the like. If the user desires to affix the decor product to the surface in a permanent or semi-permanent manner, the decor product may be affixed to the surface by applying energy thereto in the form of, for example, heat, pressure, emitted waves, an emitted electrical field, a magnetic field, and/or a chemical. The decor product may also be utilized in the form of a kit or in conjunction with a design device, such as a stencil, to control the application of the decor product to create, for example, a pattern on the surface.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for permanently applying a grayscale image (1) to a mat surface that can be polished by means of laser radiation. According to said method, image data of the grayscale image (1) encompassing an association of gray scales with pixels of the image are provided. A laser beam (4) of a pulsed laser is guided across the surface (5) for processing purposes in adjacent or partly overlapping tracks (7) while processing parameters are modulated based on the image data in such a way that different gray scales of the pixels are transformed into different degrees of gloss of the surface (5) by smoothing the surface (5) in a locally different manner. The inventive method makes it possible to polish high-resolution grayscale images into the surfaces of metallic workpieces.
