A support assembly for loading and securing a tender including first and second subassemblies. The first assembly includes a winch assembly for positioning the tender on the support assembly and the second subassembly includes a releasable securing device. Both subassemblies include a series of pivotal shafts having rollers which help guide and support the tender into position.
Abstract:
A seabed plow capable of over-the-stern release and retrieval is usable in any of boulder clearing, trench cutting and backfill modes. In its boulder clearing mode, the plow uses its skid in torquing configuration followed by moldboards to push boulders out of the path to be trenched. In the trench cutting mode, the plow uses the skid in the same configuration with its share and moldboards for initial trench depth and the same share and moldboards with moldboard extensions for increasing trench depth in subsequent passes. In the backfill mode, the plow uses its skid in trench-straddling configuration following a blade with a passage designed to discharge fragmented spoil directly onto the pipe being covered. Thus, a single plow can be reconfigured for all modes for release and retrieval to and from a relatively small vessel without use of heavy lifting equipment.
Abstract:
A launch and retrieval system (1) for a lifesaving system is disclosed. The system comprising an enclosure (10) configured for at least partially accommodating a lifeboat or equivalent, as well as means, at least partially arranged inside the enclosure suspending a lifeboat or equivalent, by means of one or more wires (20), from an upper portion of the enclosure. The means is configured for hoisting and lowering a lifeboat or equivalent in or out of the enclosure (10). The launch and retrieval system (1) further comprise means (50) preventing a lifeboat or equivalent from swinging freely in positions in-between an uppermost and stowed position of a lifeboat or equivalent and a lowermost position wherein a lifeboat of equivalent at least partially is positioned outside the enclosure (10).
Abstract:
Brake (1) having permanent magnets for launching life-saving equipment, characterised in that it comprises: - two coaxial parts having relative rotational movement therebetween around the common shaft (4), - wherein a first part comprises permanent magnets (6), and - wherein the second part comprises at least a solid body (9) of paramagnetic material adjacent to said magnets (6). such that the relative displacement thereof within the extent of the lines of flux induces eddy currents generating forces in opposition to the relative movement between the two parts.
Abstract:
A hydraulic system is adapted by means of a winch (14) having drive motor (15) and a control valve (19) to quarter a raft (10) from an upper to a lower position by means of the force of gravity and thereafter to lift an empty hook by means of hydraulic motive power. The one side of the drive motor (15), with the control valve in the quartering position (III), is connected to an accumulator (43) for the reception of pressure oil during the operation of the drive motor (15) in the quartering direction. The one side of the drive motor (15), with the control valve (19) in the lifting position (II), is connected to the accumulator (43) for feeding pressure oil for the operation of the drive motor (15) in the lifting direction.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a davit arrangement (1, 20) arranged suspended over one or more boats or cargo devices (B, C) onboard a ship or similar vessel for launching or storing the one or more boats or cargo devices (B, C), the davit arrangement (1, 20) comprises a davit housing (19) having telescopically displaceable davit arm (3, 4, 5) and a hoisting arrangement (6) for hoisting and lowering the one or more boats or cargo device (B, C). The davit arrangement comprises a carrier (2) slidable connected to the davit arm (3, 4, 5), the hoisting arrangement (6) being further connected to the carrier (2), the davit housing (19) is connected to a turntable (10) for rotational movement of the davit arrangement (1, 20) around a center axis (A), the carrier (2) is adapted to be retracted to an innermost position where the hoisting arrangement (6) is aligned with the center axis (A) of the turntable (10). The invention further relates to a method for transporting a boat or a cargo device (B, C) using the davit arrangement and a davit arrangement system.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a retrieval system for retrieving a vessel from water to a deck of a recovery vessel, comprising: a lifting device mounted on the deck of the recovery vessel, the lifting device comprising a substantially vertically extending structure and a lifting hook mounted to said substantially vertically extending structure so as to be raised and lowered therefrom by way of a first winch; a connection lead having a free end configured to detachably connect to a connection link of the vessel to be retrieved from the water an opposing end of the connection lead being located on the recovery vessel; a capture member mounted with respect to the lifting hook to capture the connection link of the vessel when the free end of the connection lead is raised towards the lifting hook; and a control member mounted with respect to the lifting hook of the lifting device and configured to receive at least a portion of the connection lead so as to direct the connection link to the capture member to be captured thereby as the free end of the connection lead is raised towards the lifting hook; wherein upon capture of the connection link by the capture member the winch is operated to facilitate lifting of the vessel from the water to the deck of the recovery vessel.
