Abstract:
There is provided a packaging manipulation apparatus which broadly includes a locating assembly, a pair of bag drawing jaws, a box opening mechanism, a sealer, and a box closing mechanism. The packaging manipulation apparatus is capable of efficiently engaging and opening a bag so that it can be subsequently filled with product and inserted into a box. It is an improvement over the prior art as it is not prone to opening more than one bag at a time. Further, it does not involve complicated engineering to manufacture and can be easily operated by an unskilled user or run automatically.
Abstract:
An apparatus (10) and method for packaging brittle fragile goods of several shapes are disclosed. The method and apparatus carefully fill a stacking tower (14) with brittle or fragile goods or products which later will be gently veiled with a bag, cover or package by a shutter (18) system, then the goods filled veiled stacking tower is conducted to a bagged product receiving area where is placed upside down promoting the detachment of the goods and bag, cover or package due to the effect of gravity.
Abstract:
The method for packaging articles provides to form a tubular wrapping (3) of thermosealable sheet material inside which the articles (2) to be packaged are prearranged, regularly distanced, and to feed said tubular wrapping (3) to a cut station (5) at which grip means (6), suitable to grasp in succession said articles (2), operate. The transverse cut of the tubular wrapping (3) is performed in suitable step relationship in the section upstream the article (2) grasped by said grip means (6) and the prepackaged article (2) is transferred to a closure rotatable head (12) for closing the package, rotatable at a plurality of operative stations (13, 14, 15). In a first operative station (13) the bellows folding of the open ends of the portion of tubular wrapping containing the article is performed. Successively, the sealing of said bellows folded ends of the wrapping is performed to obtain the airtight closure of the package.

Abstract:
A collapsible bag (10) which is adapted to have another bag stacked thereon when the collapsible bag is filled with material. The collapsible bag includes a main body (12), a bottom portion (14), and a top portion (16). The main body defines a plurality of vertical sections (A-E) to provide columnar support for holding the bag upright when the vertical sections are substantially filled with material. The botton portion (14) depends from the main body (12) and includes at least one bottom seal (28) for closing the bottom portion, wherein the bottom portion defines a substantially planar base. The top portion (16) extends from the main body (12) at an end opposite the bottom portion. The top portion includes a top seal (34) for closing the top portion. The top portion (16) defines an interior space (F) within the bag between the top seal (34) and an imaginary fill line (36). The top portion (16) also includes a vent (38) between the top seal (34) and the fill line (36), whereby air within the interior space (F) is vented to the atmosphere in response to downward pressure on the top portion (16) to collapse the bag onto its contents. A substantially planar top surface is formed along the fill line (36) to facilitate stacking the bag.
