A process for creating cold emulsions for cosmetic use involves creating a gel component by exfoliating silicate compounds with catalysts and organic materials under pressure and mixing the resulting components with water, mixing an oil phase with additional powdered components as desired, and mixing the gel component with the oil phase in a high shear mixer until a Pickering emulsion is created. The resulting emulsion is simple to manufacture, stable for long periods of time, and has a desirable texture for cosmetic use.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'une composition comprenant des particules minérales fonctionnalisées par au moins un groupement organique et présentant une surface spécifique déterminée selon la méthode BET supérieure à 500 m 2 /g, dans lequel : - on choisit une composition phyllosilicatée, comprenant des particules minérales appartenant à la famille des silicates lamellaires, lesdites particules minérales présentant une épaisseur inférieure à 100 nm et une plus grande dimension inférieure à 10 μm; - on choisit au moins un agent de fonctionnalisation, dans le groupe formé des oxysilanes et des oxygermanes présentant au moins un groupement organique, - on met en contact ladite composition phyllosilicatée avec une solution de fonctionnalisation comprenant l'agent de fonctionnalisation, de façon à obtenir une composition phyllosilicatée comprenant des particules minérales fonctionnalisées par ledit groupement organique, caractérisé en ce qu'on choisit le groupement organique dans le groupe formé des groupements hétéroaryles cationiques, des groupements ammonium quaternaire et de leurs sels. L'invention concerne également une composition phyllosilicatée susceptible d'être obtenue par un tel procédé.

The invention relates to polymeric materials with which implementing packagings for food products. These packagings retain an active principle able to prolong the shelf life of the contained product and to limit each type of deterioration and/or degradation. It further allows to subject the food product to less drastic and destructive treatments during the sterilization phase before the packaging. The active principle is confined in the polymeric material, immobilized with ionic bonds to a lamellar organic solid so as to obtain an intercalation compound which is easily dispersed in the packaging. The packaging, coming in contact with the food product, can allow, under particular conditions, the discharge of the active principle and the scattering thereof in the food product, or it can be fixed in the packaging by performing a barrier action. The polymer matrix can be constituted by any type of thermosetting or thermoplastic polymeric material, pure or mixed with other materials, pure or with organic or inorganic fillers, with synthetic or natural origin. The system at issue can be used for any type of food packaging, such as for example flexible films, polycoupled films, basins, bags, small pots, etc.

Λ Process for making a nanocomposite flame retardant based on polyvinylchloride (PVC) and nanoclays obtained from a reaction of a smectitic clay with an organic modifier obtaining an organophilic nanoclay and by dispersing the organophilic nanoclay in a PVC matrix is disclosed. In particular, the organic modifier is a salt of quaternary ammonium ethoxylate in ethyleneglycol . The nanocomposite flame retardant, according to the invention, allows to exploit the good mechanical and chemical features of polyvinylchloride avoiding the drawbacks of the nanocomposite, in particular due to the reaction of "unzipping" the PVC. The nanocomposite that is obtained has improved flame retardant properties and is cheap with respect to traditional flame retardants of prior art besides having comparable resistance to temperature and to flames.
