摘要: Composite materials for removing hydrophobic components from a fluid include a porous matrix polymer, carbon nanotubes grafted to surfaces of the porous matrix polymer, and polystyrene chains grafted to the carbon nanotubes. Examples of porous matrix polymer include polyurethanes, polyethylenes, and polypropylenes. Membranes of the composite material may be enclosed within a fluid-permeable pouch to form a fluid treatment apparatus, such that by contacting the apparatus with a fluid mixture containing water and a hydrophobic component, the hydrophobic component absorbs selectively into the membrane. The apparatus may be removed from the fluid mixture and reused after the hydrophobic component is expelled from the membrane. The composite material may be prepared by grafting functionalized carbon nanotubes to a porous matrix polymer to form a polymer-nanotube composite, then polymerizing styrene onto the carbon nanotubes of the polymer-nanotube composite.

摘要: A multifunctional hybrid material based on sepiolite for environmental recovery and bio-remediation is described. In particular, the invention describes the design and development of suitably functionalized hybrid nanomaterials starting from sepiolite and the subsequent study of the absorbent and degrading properties in relation to aromatic hydrocarbons, by activating hydrocarbonclastic bacteria. These nanomaterials have been prepared in order to remove hydrocarbon pollutants (e.g. oil) in natural matrices (marine environment), with potential applications in the field of environmental remediation.

The systems include porous polymer materials such as foams like polyurethane and may include nanoparticles and/or active chemical groups. The porous polymer may be activated to improve capture. Captured pollutants may be desorbed using solvents and mechanical methods, and the pollutants may then be concentrated and destroyed through the application of energy such as through acoustic energy, ultrasound, and/or light such as UV or visible light.

摘要: 涉及一种用于清除水体中全氟污染物的吸附树脂及其制备和应用。目的是解决传统吸附材料,如活性炭材料对水中全氟辛酸清除效果差、无法再生等问题。本方法采用苯乙烯、二乙烯苯作为骨架材料,选择合适的致孔剂及分散剂制备出孔径适中的大孔树脂,利用对二氯苄(XDC)作为后交联剂,低位阻下发生烷基化反应,通过后交联将刚性苯环结构引入树脂,进一步增大树脂疏水性,提高交联度,调节微孔结构,得到粒径分布窄、孔径均匀和高比表面积的吸附树脂,树脂中微孔尺寸与水中全氟辛酸盐分子尺寸接近,对吸附质筛分能力强,可以进一步提高全氟化合物的吸附率。

A method for removing metals from an aqueous stream, the method (i) providing a functionalized polymeric composition; (ii) adding the functionalized polymeric composition to an aqueous stream comprising a plurality of metal contaminants; (iii) allowing the polymeric composition to react with the metal contaminants to form an insoluble complex; and (iv) allowing the insoluble complex to settle out of solution or remove the insoluble complex through filtration.
