摘要: Hydrogel-forming components may be applied to soil in dry or wet formulations. After migrating to a targeted area, such as a root zone of a plant, particularly turfgrass, and after a triggering event such as a change in concentration, the hydrogel-forming components form a hydrogel in situ in the targeted area. The compositions and methods of the disclosure advantageously allow for direct application of hydrogel-forming components using existing equipment (such as, for example, sprayers) without tilling or disrupting the plants to which the compositions are applied. Hydrogel-forming components comprise one or more backbones, one or more crosslinkers, and, optionally, one or more adjuvants.

A method for administering an ophthalmic agent comprises providing a solution, emulsion, or suspension comprising an ophthalmic agent, and a preservative; and providing a preservative-removing polymeric matrix comprising an active matrix component and an inactive matrix component, and wherein the polymeric matrix is configured to selectively absorb the preservative when the solution, emulsion, or suspension is passed therethrough.

摘要: A biocompatible nanocomposite aerogel is provided that is relatively non- conductive in its dry form, but rendered conductive when wetted or moistened, making it suitable for use in a variety of sensors, including vapor sensors. The high porosity of the nanocomposite aerogel also renders it a good adsorbent for purposes such as environmental remediation of pollutants.

摘要: A carbon dioxide containing fluid is flowed through a membrane in an open position. The membrane encapsulates an adsorbent bed operating at a first temperature. The adsorbent bed adsorbs at least a portion of the carbon dioxide of the carbon dioxide containing fluid. The membrane is adjusted to a closed position, thereby isolating the adsorbent bed and preventing fluid flow into and out of the membrane. The adsorbent bed is heated to a second temperature, thereby desorbing the carbon dioxide captured from the carbon dioxide containing fluid. The membrane is adjusted to the open position. The adsorbent bed is cooled to the first temperature.
