Abstract: A water use management system may be installed in a setting that contains a primary infrastructure for water use to provide an alternate, modular infrastructure for water use. Fresh water used at various points of use, such as a shower or sink, may be diverted into the modular infrastructure prior to draining into the primary infrastructure. Once diverted, the precedent use water is received at a reservoir system where it is treated for a subsequent use. Treatment may include filtration and/or chemical treatment, and may be based upon sensor feedback from the reservoir system. Once treated, the water is ready for subsequent use and may flow from the reservoir system, via the modular infrastructure, to a subsequent point of use, such as a toilet.

Abstract: A water recycling system: a fresh water tank (Tank 2) to supply water to a fresh water outlet (SA); a water collector (SDA), corresponding with said fresh water outlet (SA) to collect grey water, said water collector being coupled to a raw water tank (Tank 1); a system of filters (F) to filter said collected grey water to obtain one portion of filtered water and another portion of first rejected water; a water quality sensor to determine if said first rejected water is to be recirculated to said system of filters, through said fresh water tank, if said sensed quality is above a pre-determined threshold, or to determine if said first rejected water is to be completely rejected, to form second rejected water, if said sensed quality is below a pre-determined threshold; and a flush tank (Tank 3) to receive said second rejected water for purposes of flushing.

Abstract: Disclosed is a water purification system for solar water disinfection, an electronic device for estimating a water disinfection state in a water purification system and a method for estimating a water disinfection state in a water purification system. The water purification system comprises a container configured to receive water to be purified and an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a photovoltaic component configured to receive incident visible light and to provide a photovoltaic output indicative of a visible light intensity at the photovoltaic component to a processor. The processor is configured to determine a dose equivalent of UV light transmitted through the container based photovoltaic output and optionally a temperature to determine a water disinfection state based on the dose equivalent and the temperature and to send a first indicator signal indicative of the water disinfection state to a purification status indicator.

Abstract: A drinking water disinfection system (200) includes a contact tank (202). Drinking water enters the contact tank (202) at water inlet (204) and exits the contact tank (202) at drinking water outlet (222). A circuitous water path from the water inlet (204) to the water outlet (222) is defined by partitions (218). The system (200) further includes an entry sensor system (214), a controller (216) and an exit sensor system (220). The entry sensor system (214) includes one or more sensors for sensing values indicative of a concentration of the disinfecting agent in the water. The controller (216) is operative to receive output signals from the sensor system (214) and to process such signals to assist in controlling the amount of disinfecting agent added to the water at the disinfectant inlet (208).

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a method, system and computer program product for automated sampling, testing and treating large water basins. In an embodiment of the invention, the method includes storing a plurality of locations of a water basin, where each location includes at least one chemical delivery outlet. The method further includes monitoring water quality for each of the plurality of locations and mapping a water quality value to each of the locations. The method even further includes responsive to the water quality value failing to meet a threshold value in one of the locations, automatically determining an amount of chemical based on the water quality value and delivering the amount of chemical only to the one of the locations through its corresponding chemical delivery outlet.
