摘要: A method of pretreating wastewater sludge including applying an amount of at least 0.01 g/g TSS Ca(ClO)2 to wastewater sludge to enhance digestibility of the sludge and reduce phosphorus concentration therein and then allowing sufficient time for the wastewater sludge to densify to a treated sludge having a specific resistance to filtration (SRF) of 3 to 4 (1010 m/Kg). The resulting treated sludge composition being sterilized, free of harmful bacteria, and useful as a fertilizer, particularly for growing mushrooms.

摘要: Systems and methods for removing precipitate from a surface of a water treatment chamber using a dasher assembly having actuator rods connected to a dasher for scraping an interior surface of the chamber. The chamber has a first end, a second end, and an electrolysis rod extending therein. The actuator rods extend within the water treatment chamber and pass through the first end so that portions of the actuator rods are within the chamber and portions are outside the chamber. The dasher includes an aperture so the electrolysis rod can pass through the aperture and translate the dasher from a first to a second location by translation of the actuator rods via an actuator. The dasher may include teeth to score the precipitate as it translates from the first location to the second location.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for removing dissolved silica from a high pH brine produced by an evaporator employed in treating a waste stream. The high pH brine is directed to a crystallizer reactor and an acid or CO2 is mixed therewith to reduce the pH of the brine, causing the silica in the brine to precipitate. The brine is then directed to a first solids-liquid separator which produces a slurry containing the precipitated silica. The slurry is split into first and second streams with one stream recycled to the crystallizer reactor while the other slurry stream is directed to a second solids-liquid separator which produces a wet cake containing the silica solids.

摘要: The present invention relates to anionic copolymers, which are suitable as scaling inhibitors in water bearing systems, in particular as inhibitors for the formation of antimony(III) sulfide-containing scale. The present invention also relates to a method for reducing scaling in water bearing systems, in particular in water loops of geothermal power plants, in which the formation of sulfide-containing scale and especially the formation of antimony(III) sulfide-containing scale may occur. The anionic copolymers have the following characteristics: 1) The copolymers comprise a. polymerized units of a monomer M1, which is a primary amide of a monoethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid having 3 to 6 C atoms and b. polymerized units of a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer M2, which is selected from monoethylenically unsaturated monomer having a sulfonate group and or a sulfate group and monoethylenically unsaturated monomer having a carboxyl group and mixtures thereof; 2) The copolymers have an anionic charge density in the range from 0.5 to 6.0 mol/kg, 3) The sodium salts of the copolymers have a weight average molecular weight Mw of at least 10000 g/mol, as determined by gel permeation chromatography.

摘要: The present invention entails dual centrifuges configured to remove suspended solids, silica, and other precipitants from evaporator brine prior to the brine being disposed of via deep well injection. First, the evaporator brine is directed through a highly efficient first centrifuge configured to remove essentially all suspended solids, including very small suspended solids that typically cannot be retained in a filter or other dewatering devices. The centrate from the first centrifuge, depleted in suspended solids, silica and other precipitants, can be disposed of via deep well injection. The first centrifuge also produces a slurry that is directed to a separate centrifuge that produces a second centrate and waste wet cake. The second centrate is recycled and mixed with the evaporator brine and the mixture is directed to the first centrifuge.
