Abstract:
The invention relates to a vitrified ceramic product with reduced weight and the ability to thicken fast without any change in its strength values for use in ceramic sanitary ware. Accordingly, vitrified ceramic products contain raw materials including quartz, clay group, feldspar, carbonate and grinders and silica aerogel in certain proportions by weight.
Abstract:
A method for preparing an optically transparent, superomniphobic coating on a substrate, such as an optical substrate, is disclosed. The method includes providing a glass layer disposed on a substrate, the glass layer having a first side adjacent the substrate and an opposed second side, the glass layer comprising 45-85 wt.% silicon oxide in a first glass phase and 10-40 wt.% boron oxide in a second glass phase, such that a glass layer has a composition in a spinodal decomposition region. The method further includes heating the second side of the glass layer to form a phase-separated portion of the layer, the phase- separated portion comprising an interpenetrating network of silicon oxide domains and boron oxide domains, and removing at least a portion of the boron oxide domains from the phase-separated portion to provide a graded layer disposed on the substrate. The graded layer has a first side disposed adjacent the substrate, the first side comprising 45-85 wt.% silicon oxide and 10-40 wt.% boron oxide, and opposite the first side, a porous second side comprising at least 45 wt.% silicon oxide and no more than 5 wt.% boron oxide.
Abstract:
The present invention relates a molded composite material and a method and process for creating the composite material from either recycled low grade mixed glass cullet or new glass. The composite material including: crushed glass; one or more aluminium compounds selected from oxide and hydrate at combined 0.40%-0.78% weight per weight of the glass; oxides of silicon, boron, sodium, calcium and potassium at combined 1.27%- 1.90% weight per weight of the glass; zirconium silicate at 0.48%-1.3% weight per weight of the glass; and optionally tin oxide at 0%-Q.45% weight per weight of the glass. The composite of the present invention can be used for making tiles, bench tops, work surfaces or other similar types of building products. The use of low grade mixed glass can also help reduce the amount of used glass being dumped in landfill or used in other low value enterprises such as providing highway aggregate or landfill cover.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention includes a cooking appliance with an enamel composition. The enamel composition includes a heat resistance, chemical resistance, wear resistance, and pollution resistance, such that the cooking appliance withstands high temperature, acid or alkali and is readily cleaned.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A coke furnace is coated with a coating film which has a high strength, high impact resistance, excellent smoothness, and high durability and is capable of protecting the refractory bricks of the coke furnace over long. A coating material which comprises as main ingredient 18 to 70 % by weight SiO2, and 10 to 60 % by weight Na2O and/or K2O and contains at least one member selected among 2 to 14 % by weight P2O5, 0.5 to 25 % by weight BaO, 0.5 to 25 % by weight SrO, and 0.5 to 20 % by weight Fe2O3 is sprayed over refractory bricks to remove the carbon adherent to the bricks and form an exellent coating layer.
