Abstract:
According to an aspect of an embodiment, operations may comprise receiving a search query for points near a query-point, accessing a compressed octree representation of a point cloud comprising 3D points of a region, and traversing the compressed octree representation to identify regions that overlap a search space by, marking a current node as overlapping the search space responsive to determining that the current node is a leaf node, identifying a child node of the current node and performing a nearest neighbor search in the child node responsive to determining that a region represented by the current node overlaps the search space, and identifying a sibling node of the current node and performing the nearest neighbor search in the sibling node responsive to determining that a region represented by the current node does not overlap the search space.
Abstract:
Techniques for customer charge accounting in a soft proofing system take into account one or more factors associated with a hard copy proofing job simulated by the soft proofing system. The charge for the soft proofing job can be correlated, at least in part, to the overall cost of the hard copy proofing job emulated by the soft proofing job. The factors used to calculate the customer charge for a soft proofing job may include, for example, comparable hard copy equipment costs (34), comparable hard copy media costs (36), hard copy delivery costs (40), avoidance of delivery and production delays relative to hard copy proofing, and the number of users that view the hard copy proofing job. A value scale factor may be applied to a base cost for a given soft proof, thereby yielding a cost (50) that can be charged to the customer.
Abstract:
An improved price updating apparatus for use in retail store pricing systems has an input for receiving update data indicative of a product for which a price change is desired and the changed price. The apparatus looks up records in a database (26, 29) relating to store locations, for locations where the product may be found. Where the location has an electronic price display device (24), preferably connected with the apparatus by a serial data link (23), the changed price is transmitted to the display device by the serial data link (23). Where the location has a printed price (48, 49), the apparatus stores a print job record containing information about the price and the shape and the size of the printed price. A user is later able to select, one by one, the various shapes and sizes of printed prices, and to print all the records intended for printing at the selected shape and size.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to methods for selecting a variant of a peptide epitope which induces a CTL response against another variant(s) of the peptide epitope, by determining whether the variant comprises only conserved residues, as defined herein, at non-anchor positions in comparison to the other variant(s). The present invention is also directed to variants identified by the methods above; peptides comprising such variants; nucleic acids encoding such variants and peptides; cells comprising such variants, and/or peptides, and/or nucleic acids; compositions comprising such variants, and/or peptides, and/or nucleic acids, and/or cells; as well as therapeutic and diagnostic methods for using such variants, peptides, nucleic acids, cells, and compositions.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to a washing aid dispenser for a washing machine. The dispenser (2, 102) comprises at least a compartment (3, 103), which is adapted to contain the washing aids and is provided with a first siphon (8, 108) having a pre-determined suction height (h) and at least a second siphon (14, 114) having a higher suction height (H) than said first siphon (8, 108). The first and second siphon (8, 14, 108,. 114) are adapted to draw in and convey towards the washing tub of the machine layers of the washing aids mixed with water lying at different heights in the dispenser (2, 102).
Abstract:
It consists of a body (1 ), which is provided at one end with an igniting head (2) of a match and at the other end with a sharp end (3) of a toothpick.
Abstract:
Embodiments include a device, apparatus, and a method. A device includes an input circuit for receiving data corresponding to a runtime execution of a first instruction by a first processor having a first architecture. The device also includes a generator circuit for creating an execution-based optimization profile useable in an execution of a second instruction by a second processor having a second architecture.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing of matches and the like comprising a support material of bamboo and an ignitable part, especially a matchhead. The method involves the treatment of bamboo with suitable agents in order to alter the structure of the material to permit proper impregnation of the bamboo. The treatment of bamboo is preferably performed by a detergent solution and/or a solution of inorganic bases.
