The invention relates to silicone resins comprising metallosiloxane which contains Si- O-Metal bonds and borosiloxane containing Si-O-B bonds and potentially Si-O-Si and/or M-O-M and/or B-O-B bonds. It also relates to the preparation of such silicone resins and to their use in thermoplastic or thermosetting organic polymer or rubber or thermoplastic/rubber blends compositions to reduce the flammability or enhance scratch and/or abrasion resistance of the organic polymer compositions. It further relates to coatings made of such silicone resins for scratch resistance enhancement or flame retardant properties.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur kontinuierlichen Herstellung von präkeramischen Polymeren. Das Verfahren umfasst die Synthese der Polymere, ihre Abtrennung aus dem Reaktionsgemisch und die thermische Konditionierung zur Einstellung des Vernetzungsgrades und der Theologischen Eigenschaften in einem einzigen integrierten Verfahren. Die hergestellten Polymere dienen als Ausgangsstoffe für die Herstellung nicht- oxidischer Keramiken im ternären oder quatemären System X/Y/N bzw. X/Y/N/C. Derartige Werkstoffe zeichnen sich durch hohe thermische, mechanische und chemische Beständigkeit aus, wobei X und Y beliebige Kombinationen u.a. der Elemente Si, B, P, Al, Ti, V, Zr, Ta darstellen.

A carborane-siloxane compound is provided having the repeat unit (1) or (A). Q contains any of (B) carboranyl, and U'. A therapeutic or exercise putty includes a boronated silicone elastomer serving as the base ingredient and copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper oxide, zinc oxide or zinc pyrithione as a secondary ingredient mixed with the base putty or in combination with an antistatic ingredient. The inclusion of any one of the aforementioned secondary ingredients or the antistatic ingredient will reduce the risk of transmission of or infection from viruses, bacteria and microbial pathogens in or on the surface of the putty when the putty is used for hand rehabilitation or exercise by patients.
