    Abstract: A peelable and sealable lidstock constructed from a metal substrate and a sealing layer, the sealing layer containing (A) from 70-89% by weight of a copolymer having one or more polymerized olefin monomers and one or more polymerized ethylenically unsaturated (poly)carboxylic acid monomers, (B) from 10-29% by weight of a copolymer comprising one or more polymerized (meth)acrylate ester monomers, and (C) from 1-10% by weight of one or more inorganic particles characterized by a mass median diameter (D50) comprised between 1 and 5 micron.

    Abstract: A chitosan-latex binder comprising chitosan and latex binder in a weight ratio of chitosan to latex binder of from about 1:10 to about 1:15,000. A method of making a chitosan-latex binder, the method comprising (a) contacting chitosan with an acidic solution to form a chitosan solution, and (b) contacting at least a portion of the chitosan solution with a latex binder to form the chitosan-latex binder, wherein the chitosan-latex binder is characterized by a chitosan to latex binder weight ratio of from about 1:10 to about 1:15,000.

    Abstract: Provided herein is an encapsulant composition. The encapsulant composition, which is useful in photovoltaic modules, comprises a copolymer of ethylene, vinyl acetate and a third comonomer. Preferred third comonomers include methacrylic acid, carbon monoxide, acrylic acid, maleic anhydride mono-methyl ester (MAME), and maleic anhydride. Further provided herein is a photovoltaic module comprising the encapsulant composition. The photovoltaic module is less susceptible to potential-induced degradation than are photovoltaic modules that use conventional encapsulants that are primarily copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate.
