摘要: Rare earth elements (REEs) play an essential role in our modern society, being critical resources for the growing electronic devices and renewable energy technologies. For the reversible capture and release of REEs, we designed and synthesized a redox-copolymer poly(ferrocenylpropyl methacrylamide-co-methacrylic acid) (P(FPMAm-co-MAA)) that combines an ion-exchange carboxylic acid group for REE adsorption, and an redox-active ferrocene moiety for electrochemical regeneration. By molecularly tuning the copolymer composition, efficient adsorption uptake could be achieved alongside electrochemically regenerated adsorbent reuse. The copolymer sorbent showed stoichiometric binding for yttrium (Y), cerium (Ce), neodymium (Nd), europium (Eu), gadolinium (Gd), and dysprosium (Dy) based on carboxylic acid active site.

摘要: The invention relates to a two-component aqueous coating composition comprising: A an aqueous resin component comprising a carboxyl-functional resin; and B a substantially water-free hardener component comprising: - a carbodiimide comprising in the range of from 1 to 20 carbodiimide moieties and terminal and/or pendant non-ionic emulsifying groups; and - an alkoxysilane selected from the groups consisting of an organo-functional alkoxysilane of general formula (I) R1[-(CH2)n-Si(OR2)3-m(R3)m]p (I) and a tetraalkylorthosilicate of general formula (II) Si(OR2)4 (II) wherein m is 0 or 1; n is an integer with a value in the range of from 0 to 6; p is 1 or 2; R1 is an organic group comprising an epoxide group, a vinyl group, or a (meth)acryloyl group, or is a hydrogen atom and R1 does not comprise a carboxylic functional group, a mercapto-functional group, or an amine- functional group; R2 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and R3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, wherein the weight ratio of the carbodiimide to the alkoxysilane in hardener component B is in the range of from 10:90 to 85:15.

摘要: The present invention is a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of metal oxide pigment particles coated with an organosilane polymer comprising structural units of an alkyltrihydroxysilane or a salt thereof, a dialkyldihydroxysilane or a salt thereof, and an ancillary alkylsilane triol. The composition of the present invention provides hydrophobicity to pigment particles, thereby imparting water resistance, and allows for high loadings of pigment in water without increased viscosity. The dispersion is further useful for providing stain and corrosion resistance in coatings arising from paints.

摘要: Provided is an aqueous dispersion comprising: (i) multistage polymeric particles having a Tg in the range of from 0 to 80℃ and comprising a polymer A and a polymer B at a weight ratio of the polymer A to polymer B in the range of from 78: 22 to 22: 78, wherein Tg difference between the polymer A and the polymer B is 40℃ or more, and the multistage polymeric particles comprise, by weight based on the weight of the multistage polymeric particles, from 10% to 40% of structural units of a cycloalkyl (meth) acrylate, from 40% to 85% of structural units of a hydrophobic monomer, from 0.5% to 10% of structural units of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer carrying at least one functional group, structural units of a polymerizable surfactant having specific structure; and optionally structural units of an additional ethylenically nonionic monomer; and (ii) from 0 to 5%, by weight based on the weight of the multistage polymeric particles, of a metal salt. Also provided are a process of preparing the aqueous dispersion and a coating composition comprising the same. The aqueous dispersion provides coating films with good tannin blocking, early block resistance and sandability properties.
