Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mixture of polyalkylsiloxanes that cure at comparably low temperatures of about 170°C while being unreactive under ambient conditions during storage or transport and which are obtainable through a hydrosilylation reaction wherein a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated olefins consisting of 1-100 % of one or more polyene(s) having one terminal double bond which is either monosubstituted or geminal disubstituted and one or more tri- or tetrasubstituted double bond(s), wherein said terminal double bond and said one or more tri- or tetrasubstituted double bond(s) are preferably non-conjugated, and 0-99 mol % of monounsaturated olefins with 6 to 15 carbon atoms is reacted with an amount of one or more polyalkylhydrosiloxanes in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst. Furthermore, the present invention relates to water-based compositions suitable for use in metal casting processes as a mold release agent comprising a mixture of polyalkylsiloxanes of the invention and a non-ionic surfactant having a HLB value of at least 8. In addition, the present invention relates to the use of the polyalkylsiloxanes and mixtures of polyalkylsiloxanes as defined herein.
Abstract:
Provided is a hydraulic fluid composition for a refrigerator which comprises, as a base oil, a combination of a polyester derivative or a polyvinyl ether derivative and a polycarbonate type oxygen-containing compound, a polyoxyalkylene glycol derivative, or a combination of a polyester derivative or a polyvinyl ether derivative and a polyoxyalkylene glycol derivative, and which exhibits excellent compatibility with a solvent having a structure having one carbon atom and being free of chlorine, in particular difluoromethane, and is excellent in abrasion resistance, lubricating characteristics, stability and the like.
Abstract:
A water soluble polyoxymethylene copolymer is described. In one embodiment, the polyoxymethylene copolymer is a liquid at 35°C and is water soluble. The polyoxymethylene copolymer may have a comonomer content of greater than about 60% by weight, such as greater than about 70% by weight, such as greater than about 80% by weight. The copolymer is usually formed using a chain transfer agent. The polyoxymethylene copolymer can be formed so as to have a relatively low molecular weight and have a relatively great amount of end groups or terminal groups. For instance, the copolymer may contain end groups in an amount greater than 300 mmol/kg.
