Abstract: The invention relates to an LED module having a regular array of LEDs (10), wherein each LED (10) is provided with a lens (20) and the LEDs (10) are mounted on a plate (1). An optics support plate (2) is provided that contains a regular arrangement of light bundling optical devices (20; 30) corresponding to the LED array. Abstract: A road marking unit (1) according to the invention comprises a house (10) with a light transmissive window (20). In the house (10) is arranged an electro-optic switch (30). In an activated state of the road marking unit (1) the electro-optic switch (30) achieves that light is reflected from the window (20) back to the window (20). In a de-activated state of the road marking unit (1) the electro-optic switch (30) achieves that light from the window (20) is absorbed. The road marking unit (1) of the invention has the advantage that it can also in bright environmental light be switched between visible and invisible.

Abstract: Road-side reflector network (Reflective Marker Network), established through optically coupling of individual roadside markers / reflectors. Each individual roadside marker acts as a light collector and reflector; partly reflecting the light and partly transmitting the light through optical coupling (e.g. optical fibres) to other roadside markers. The proportion of transmitted light can be anything from 0 to 100% of the incident light, the proportion of reflected light being the remainder of the total incident light. Any coupling distribution is possible, thereby theoretically extending the distance over which the roadside markers are lit-up to infinity, and far beyond the reach of conventional, non- coupled road side markers, where the distance is limited to the range of a car's head light.
