This invention relates to a bank note storage container (16), and more specifically, but not exclusively, a bank note storage container (16) which has an orientation device (1) for orientating bank notes (12) in a receptacle such as a bag (6) of a cash deposit safe (10). The bank note storage container (16) comprising a secure container body having a receiving aperture (11) in a wall of the container body for receiving bank notes (12) therethrough into the container body and an orientator (1) inside the container body for supporting some of the bank notes (12) out of a horizontal plane.

A safe apparatus (e.g., an ATM) is configured to store physical banknotes inside at least one removable cassette. The safe apparatus has an electronic control module including an input and an output and at least one sensor which is connected to the input to the control module, the sensor being coupled to the safe enclosure and being configured to sense mechanical damage and in response to generate a tamper signal. The safe apparatus includes a dye reservoir, a dye dispensing trigger, and a conduit network connected between the dye reservoir and the cassette, the conduit network including at least one coupling mechanism to connect or disconnect the cassette from the dye reservoir. The control module generates a trigger signal in response to receipt of the tamper signal, to cause dye from the dye reservoir to be dispensed via the conduit network into the cassette and onto the banknotes contained therein.

Banknote processing equipment is disclosed, which comprises a chamber having an open end for insertion of a bag into the chamber and an extractor adapted to establish a lower ambient pressure between the chamber and the bag to that within the bag to cause the bag to expand into an open configuration during a banknote filling operation, whereby the banknote processing equipment can deposit banknotes in the bag.

The secure container (10) comprises an outer casing made up of two interengagable half shells (12, 14). Banknotes (26) are packaged into the container (10) and the container security mechanism includes a detonator that activates in response to an alarm signal to project dye from dye packs (16) into the money pack (26). The container (10) includes means to create a partial vacuum within the container (10), programmable logic means and a pressure sensor. In the event of a rapid loss of vacuum, when the container (10) is opened without authorisation, for instance, the programmable logic means applies the alarm signal as soon as the sensor detects the vacuum loss.

The invention relates to a security bag for the transportation of valuables, in particular banknotes. The security bag comprises an access opening (15) which provides access to the inner area of the security bag and a closing device (16) which closes the access opening. The security bag is permeable to air and liquid in a first area (A) and is made of a plastic film (14) in the second area (B). The access opening and the closing device are embodied in said plastic film. According to the invention, the first area which is permeable to air and liquid is made of plastic non-woven material or tissue (28).
