Abstract:
For producing doors or other panel elements with an appearance of the infill panelled type, the panelling pattern is achieved through a simple relief pressing of a thin covering plate member (2) which is mounted on a carrier framework (10). The covering plate member (2, 4) which is coated by veneer or paper is produced from wood fibre or chip mass (14) which is pressed and heated only so much that the plate material becomes leather-like, i.e. without the incorporated binding agent being hardened. By the relief pressing of the covering plate (2) heat is supplied in such a manner that the binding agent hardens after the final deformation pressure has been applied, whereby a stable final product is obtained in a simple and inexpensive manner.
Abstract:
A door (10) includes a front panel (18) and a back panel (24). The front panel and back panel are secured together by connecting members (42 and 44) which are connected by weld (82). Panels (18 and 24) include sides (32 and 38) that are dimensioned to maintain cover strip (90) therebetween. Cover strip (90) conceals the welds (82) that result in a smooth finish for the side of door (10). Panels (18 and 24) are also joined by connecting members (92, 104, 120 and 122) and welds (116 and 144). A channel member (118) is maintained between connecting members (92 and 104) to conceal weld (116). Support members (154 and 160) are also provided to panels (18 and 24).
Abstract:
A door comprises a door frame having frame-members (1-4), which extend along the edges of the door. The door is clad on one flat side thereof with an outer panel (8) which is nailed to the frame members and also to at least one nailing batten (9, 10). The nailing batten has a thickness which is smaller than the thickness of the frame members. A continuous sheet (5) of insulating material provided with grooves (11, 12) for accommodating the nailing batten fills the hollow cavity located inwardly of the door-frame members. The insulating sheet (5) and the door-frame members (1-4) surrounding the insulating sheet are covered on each flat side thereof with a covering sheet (6, 7), to which they are glued. The door is manufactured by forming an insulating sheet (5) which fits into the space located inwardly of the door frame and which has a thickness corresponding to the thickness of the door frame, by forming in the insulating sheet one or more grooves (11, 12) whose depth is smaller than the thickness of the sheet, and by placing nailing battens (9, 10) in the grooves (11, 12) and gluing the insulating sheet (5), the nailing battens located in the grooves, and the frame-members (1-4) to the covering sheets (6, 7), and then nailing the outer panel (8) to the door structure thus obtained.
Abstract:
Novel compressible flexible hinge assemblies for connecting abutting panel sections (30 and 50) of upward acting or sectional doors, such as garage doors, are disclosed. More particularly, abutting panel sections of an upward acting door are hingedly connected together economically and in a weather-tight relationship by a flexible hinge assembly (70) which can be easily installed without the use of tools by snapping it into predesigned elongated slots (61 and 41a) in the abutting panel sections from the rear or interior side of the door. When assembled, a compressible flexible hinge assembly (70) of the present invention provides a smooth, flush back surface on the rear or interior side of an upward acting door and eliminates the unsightly appearance associated with conventional metal hardware heretofore used to hinge abutting panel sections (30 and 50) of upward acting doors (70).
Abstract:
A crossmember (15) to be positioned widthwise at the base of the door (10). According to the invention, the crossmember (15) comprises a recess (18) on its bottom edge for receiving and securing a retaining strip (20) to hold a facing (11) in said recess (18) if desired. Application particularly for sliding doors for cupboards.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method for production of cores for doors, partitions, furniture and the like is described, where a filling material is mixed with a binding agent, and where the core is form-pressed in a desired shape, preferably as a plate-shaped item, where biomass is used as filling material, for instance in form of straw and stalks, and where a binding agent is used, mainly consisting of either UF-glue (urea-formaldehyd) or MUF-glue (melamin urea-formaldehyd), and which preferably contains a foaming agent; and a core provided as a form-pressed mainly plate-shaped item, where the filling material consists of biomass, for instance in form of disintegrated straw and stalks, and where the binding agent mainly consists of UF-glue or MUF-glue, to which a foaming agent preferably is added.
Abstract:
A door (10) whose outer appearance may be readily altered has at least one panel (12) with a back side (22) and a front face (23) including a plurality of horizontal locking slots (32, 34, 36) formed thereacross and interchangeable facades (14, 16) having a decorative front side (50) and a back side (52) with integrally formed, backwardly projecting clips (54, 56) adapted to releasably interlock with the slots. The panel includes end caps (38) adapted to receive the facades (14, 16) thereunder, with the facades being movable in the slots (32, 34, 36), to accommodate expansion and contraction of the facades and door.
Abstract:
A new traffic impact door construction is provided together with a method of making same. The door body comprises a frame that is made up of a plurality of peripheral frame members (2A-2D) and a plurality of interior frame members (4A-4D), with the frame members being extruded beam-type parts made of a thermoplastic material, and front and back door face panels (34A, 34B) that are ultrasonically bonded to the frame. At least one of the frame members serves as a door post mount and other frame members serve as a supporting frame for a window pane (64A, 64B). The frame members also are adapted to serve as mounts for flexible and resilient door edge seals (54, 56).
Abstract:
A method for the manufacture of doors (1) and other building elements which extend in the form of a sheet and which are formed from a rectangular frame (2), preferably made of a wooden material and exhibiting an internal cavity (4), which frame is intended to be filled with cast plastic material (3) and to be covered with side trims (5, 6) in the form of sheets. The invention permits, amongst other things, the systematic manufacture of doors which exhibit internal insulation made of a cast plastic material and which are imparted with good strength characteristics and temperature characteristics. A mounting sheet (7, 8) in the form of a sheet provided with a number of holes (11) is placed between the frame (2) and said side trims (5, 6). Said cavity (4) in the frame is then filled with cast plastic material (3) of a liquid consistency so that the cast plastic material (3) penetrates through the holes (11) in the mounting sheet and adheres to parts (7A, 8A; 9, 10) situated along adjacent parts of the mounting sheet (7, 8) in question. The invention also relates to an arrangement for the execution of the method.
