Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a fuel for driving a gas turbine (4), including the steps of: - pressurizing liquid ammonia, - the pressurized ammonia is fed by a feeding line (6) into an ammonia cracking device (10) and partially cracked using exhaust gas heat from the gas turbine (4), - a mixture of hydrogen, nitrogen and uncracked ammonia is taken out of the ammonia cracking device (10) to a cooling unit (14) and cooled down to ambient temperatures, - in a gas-liquid-separator (16), the gaseous mixture of hydrogen, nitrogen and uncracked ammonia is separated from the uncracked, liquid ammonia by means of centrifugal and/or gravitational forces, - the gaseous mixture of hydrogen, nitrogen and uncracked ammonia is fed to at least one burner (22) of the gas turbine (4), - the uncracked, liquid ammonia from the gas-liquid- separator (16) is mixed with the pressurized ammonia in the feeding line (6). In this method the exhaust heat of the gas turbine is advantageously used in the cracking process.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of generating electric power includes expanding a flow of exhaust gas from a combustion process as the exhaust gas passes through a turbo-expander disposed on a turbo-crankshaft. The flow of exhaust gas from the turbo-expander is routed through an absorber section of an open cycle absorption chiller system. Water from the exhaust gas is absorbed via a first refrigerant solution disposed in the absorber section as the exhaust gas passes through the first refrigerant solution and out of the absorber section. The flow of exhaust gas from the absorber section is compressed as the exhaust gas passes through a turbo-compressor disposed on the turbo-crankshaft. Electrical power is generated from a bottoming cycle generator disposed on the turbo-crankshaft.
