Abstract: Provided herein are various enhancements for panel inserts which can provide for mounting of threaded fasteners or other mounting members into various panels. In one example, a panel insert carrier comprises a barrel having flanged ends. The barrel comprising an axial bore therein having a threaded surface configured to removably accept a threaded insert. At least one of the flanged ends comprises an aperture for injection of potting around an exterior of the barrel when inserted into a bore hole of a panel.

Abstract: A threaded male member (12) for a fastening arrangement has a reaction portion (16), such as a splined end or engagement portions in a threaded end. The threaded male member can have an internal or external secondary reaction portion (16.1) and a fail region (17). A tool (36) can have concentric sockets having a first socket (38) to engage the reaction portion (16) and a second socket (40) to engage the nut (18). An anti-rotation device (28) can be applied to the reaction portion and a nut (18) after fastening. A retainer (119) can engage with the reaction portion or the fail region (17). The retainer can bias the nut in a tightening direction. Rate of change in applied torque (ΔT) relative to a change in rate of change of angle (ΔA) of rotation can be sensed and used to determine correct tightening.

Abstract: A coiled wire nut stopper to be placed on top of the nut by screwing it onto the part of bolt protruding from the nut. Most versions of nut stoppers have leading sharp end of the wire entering the clearance between end of the nut's thread and bolt thread channel, jamming the nut to prevent its loosening. The coils are tightly hugging the bolt to hold nut stopper in place. Nut stopper can be made symmetrical with 2 sharp wire ends. Nut stopper is movable by two wire loop handles located on leading and trailing coils or by a plurality of handles along the coils whose tips form a shape suitable for gripping either by hand or by a wrench or socket. Nut stoppers with two handles on leading and trailing coils located close together in horizontal plane allow pressing handles closer expanding the coils diameter and simply place or remove the nut stopper without screwing it.

Abstract: A standoff fastener for attaching to a blind hole in a metal panel. The fastener has a substantially cylindrical body with a short shank that extends downwardly from the body into the hole. The shank has an inwardly extending collar with a first inwardly facing chamfer on the top and a second outwardly facing chamfer located on the bottom. The body has a shoulder at the bottom with a circular recess adjacent to and encircling the shank. The shank is radially divided into four equal segments which are separated by four radial slots. When the shank is spread outwardly by a center installation punch pressing against the first chamfer, the outer distal edge of the shank is pressed into the side wall of the hole, while an edge at the top of the second chamfer embeds into the end wall of the hole.
