Abstract:
A screw compressor utilizing radial and axial or thrust bearings to maintain the position of the rotors radially and axially and utilizing a damping fluid to dampen rotor vibrations. The damping fluid may conveniently be provided in the form of lubricant that is already used in the compressor to seal the clearances between the rotors and between the rotors and the cylinder during compression. The damping fluid is included in a squeeze film damper, arranged in a parallel arrangement with the radial or thrust bearings, which provides viscous damping to the rotor. The introduction of additional viscous damping such as may be provided by squeeze film dampers may result in significant reduction of compressor vibration regardless of the source of vibration.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Lagerring (10, 30, 40), der einen Lastbereich (6) mit einer Gleitfläche oder mit einer Wälzkörperlaufbahn (4), einen Befestigungsbereich (5) und einen Dämpfungsbereich zwischen dem Befestigungsbereich und dem Lastbereich (6) aufweist. Ziel der Erfindung ist es eine akustische Entkopplung in mehreren Lagertypen möglich zu machen. Dies wird erreicht indem der Dämpfungsbereich aus voneinander separierten oder miteinander verbundenen Ausnehmungen (11, 31, 32, 42, 43) gebildet wird und die Ausnehmungen (11, 31, 32, 42, 43) einen dämpfenden Füllstoff, insbesondere Metallschaum (7), enthalten. Entsprechendes wird auch mit einer Dämpfungshülse zwischen Lagerring und Anschlusskonstruktion erreicht.

A support device for a bearing assembly includes a housing with a bore and a centerline and a bearing having a bore for receiving a rotatable shaft. The support device has an annular body disposeable within the housing bore and having a central axis and inner and outer surfaces extending circumferentially about the axis, the inner surface defining a central bore for receiving the bearing. One or more first integral spring portions extend generally between the inner and outer surfaces and have a first stiffness and one or more second integral spring portions are each spaced circumferentially from the first spring(s). The second spring extends generally between the inner and outer surfaces and has a second, greater stiffness. The body is adjustably angularly positionable about the body axis to adjust a position of the shaft axis with respect to the housing centerline when disposed within the support bore.
