Abstract: A bearing (100) including a sidewall (102) including a substrate (119) and a low friction material (104) extending along at least one of a radially inner surface or a radially outer surface of the sidewall, the sidewall further including: a body (114) defining a bore (155) about a central axis (500); and a flange (116) contiguous with and extending from an axial end of the body (114), where the flange (116) includes a folded over outermost peripheral edge (120), where the substrate (119) has a reduced thickness at the outermost peripheral edge (120), the flange (116) being configured such that the substrate is not exposed along the outermost peripheral edge (120).

Abstract: A composite ring includes a first region including a first polymeric material; a second region including a second polymeric material; and an interfacial region defining a compositional gradient between the first region and the second region; wherein a wear resistance of the first region is different from a wear resistance of the second region. A composite bearing includes a first layer including a first polymeric material and a first filler; a second layer disposed on the first layer, the second layer including a second polymeric material and a second filler; and an interfacial region defining a compositional gradient between the first layer and the second layer, wherein a wear resistance of the first layer is greater than a wear resistance of the second layer, and wherein a mechanical strength of the second layer is greater than a mechanical strength of the first layer.
