Abstract: Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren (200) zur Herstellung eines Rippen-Platten-Wärmetauschers (100), bei dem ein Wärmetauscherpassagen (1) aufweisender Wärmetauscherblock (20) bereitgestellt wird, und bei dem auf den Wärmetauscherblock (20) ein Header (7) aufgebracht wird, wobei der Header (7) zumindest zum Teil unter Verwendung eines additiven Fertigungsverfahrens ausgebildet wird. Der Header (7) wird unter Verwendung des additiven Fertigungsverfahrens derart ausgebildet, dass zumindest ein Abschnitt einer Querschnittslinie einer Wandfläche (71, 72) des Headers (7) an einer Querschnittsposition einen von einem Kreisabschnitt und von einem Ellipsenabschnitt abweichenden, gekrümmten Verlauf aufweist. Ein entsprechend ausgebildeter Wärmetauscher (200) ist ebenfalls Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung.
