Alignment of read/write heads with the storage tracks in disk drive memory systems allows disks to be designed with greater track densities, thereby allowing smaller disks and/or increasing the storage capacity of the disks. Spindle motors having fluid dynamic bearings situated between, for example, a shaft and sleeve support a hub and disk for rotation, thereby assisting rotational accuracy. In fluid dynamic bearings, also referred to as hydrodynamic bearings, a lubricating fluid may be provided between a fixed member bearing surface and a rotating member bearing surface of the disk drive. Disk drive hydrodynamic bearings are sensitive, for example, to external loads and mechanical shock. As a result, the stiffness of the fluid dynamic bearing affects the support of a rotating load on the spindle during wobble or tilt.

A system for ranging between two wellbores where an emitter electrode and return electrode of a current injection system are disposed to drive a current to a conductive member within a target wellbore to create an electromagnetic field about the conductive member. The electromagnetic field is measured utilizing a sensor disposed in an investigative wellbore, which may be in the process of being drilled. In some embodiments, the emitter electrode and return electrode are positioned on the surface of a formation, spaced apart from one another with locations on the surface selected to optimize current, and therefore, the electromagnetic field, at a desired point along the conductive member. In some embodiments, one or both of the emitter electrode and return electrode are positioned in the target wellbore.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Position des freien Endes eines Kontaktstabes an einem Sondenhalter (2) einer hüttentechnischen Sonde, wobei eine Bewegung des Sondenhalters (2) und/oder der Vermessungsvorrichtung (11) so weit in drei Raumrichtungen relativ zueinander erfolgt, bis entweder in jeder der drei Raumrichtungen durch den Kontaktstab (4) ein Detektor der Vermessungsvorrichtung (11) ausgelöst wurde, oder in zumindest einer der drei Raumrichtungen ein voreingestelltes maximales Ausmaß von Bewegung überschritten wird ohne dass ein Detektor der Vermessungsvorrichtung (11) ausgelöst wurde. Für jede der drei Raumrichtungen wird dabei das Ausmaß der mittels der Halte- und Bewegungsvorrichtung (8) erfolgenden Bewegung des Sondenhalters (2) und/oder das Ausmaß der Bewegung der Vermessungsvorrichtung (11) bis zur Auslösung des Detektors ermittelt. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft weiterhin eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens.

A wireless position feedback device incorporated in a monitored device. The position feedback device measures a position of a moving element of the monitored device, generates a local power supply based upon local environmental characteristics and conditions. The wireless feedback device stores the local power supply for use in transmitting the measured position to a remote control system. The remote control system adjusts at least one operational parameter for the monitored device based upon the measured position.
