Abstract: A method and system for determining a route map and a route for a vehicle. Generating (210) the route map comprises obtaining (220) historical data comprising a plurality of data points for each of a plurality of vehicles from storage and determining (230) a plurality of nodes representing the data points. The historical data is applied (240) to the nodes to determine the closest node for each vehicle. The nodes are ordered (250) for each of the vehicles in the historical data by time; and a directed edge is generated (260) between a first and second node of the plurality of ordered nodes, based on when the historical data indicates that a given vehicle has transited from the first node and the second node. A route is determined (270) for the vehicle based on the generated route map and outputted (280) to a control system.

Abstract: A system may include a processor programmed to access a map and receive an output provided by a vehicle sensor. The processor may also be programmed to localize a vehicle relative to the map based on analysis of the output from the sensor, and determine an electronic horizon for the vehicle based on the localization of the vehicle relative to the map. The processor may further be programmed to generate a navigation information packet including information associated with the determined electronic horizon. The navigation information packet may include a header portion and a variable-sized payload portion. The header portion may specify what information is included in the variable-sized payload portion. The processor may also be programmed to output the generated navigation information packet to one or more navigation system processors configured to cause the vehicle to execute a navigational maneuver based on the information included in the navigation information packet.
