Abstract:
A method for controlling an amount of material delivered during a material transfer. This method includes the steps of inputting a target amount for a material to be delivered from a source location to a target location, updating the target amount during the delivery of the material using a predictive model-based algorithm, and updating the predictive model-based algorithm based on process performance data using a recursive least-squares procedure. An adaptive selection algorithm which is used to determine whether at least one previous predictive model-based algorithm parameter should be replaced with at least one new predictive model-based algorithm parameter in order to adapt the predictive model-based algorithm in response to a process change. A method for overlapping a delivery of at least one independently measured material with a delivery of a main material during a material transfer process.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for filling a container with the net weight of a product using a filling element arranged to introduce the product in the container when the latter is borne by a force sensor. The invention is characterised in that it comprises at least a cycle including steps which consist in: providing a container on a force sensor; commanding a flow of product by the filling member, repeatedly timing the flow of product starting from the time the flow is commanded; measuring at least at distinct first and second reading times a value of a signal delivered by the force sensor; calculating an average flow rate of the product in a time interval separating the reading times; performing at least a calculated evaluation of a filling time based on the calculated average flow rate and a reference weight; commanding the product flow to be stopped when the flowing time of the product is equal to the evaluation of the filling time.
Abstract:
When metering highly viscous, paste-like material from a metering valve, an indeterminate amount of residual material is left suspended from the metering valve (1) after closure of the valve. In order to remove said residual material, a roller (20) disposed just below and to one side of the metering valve is brought into contact with the residual material, the roller rotating about its substantially horizontal axis in such a way that the peripheral region of the roller coming into contact with the residual material moves in an upward direction and in so doing "winds on" the residual material.
