Abstract:
The invention relates to a storage device for data, in particular audio data, used in conjunction with a flat support. Said storage device consists of a retaining element which can be moved into at least two positions and a storage element that is connected to the retaining element. The storage device is attached to the support in such a way, that in at least one position said device does not substantially project beyond one of the support edges that delimits the surface extension and lies essentially parallel to one of the flat faces of the support, and that the section of the retaining element that is connected to the storage element projects beyond the support in at least one position.
Abstract:
A display apparatus (18) capable of sequentially displaying a plurality of annotated imageprints (36), each image print having encoded audio data (54) made integral to its back surface(46), thereby providing a convenient way to both display image prints and play back audio dataassociated with image prints. In one aspect, the display apparatus (18) also records audio datafor a plurality of image prints and provides a handwritten means to electronically associate aparticular image print with its respective audio recording. In other aspects, the display apparatus(18) also includes means for integrating encoded data (54) with the image prints and recording, storing and playing back data corresponding to a portfolio of image prints. There is also amethod of capturing images and corresponding audio messages, integrating the audio messageswith the back surfaces (46) of image prints made from the images, and displaying the imageprints while playing back the corresponding audio messages.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device and a method for reproducing photographic sound information in double-edged variable-width track (DZ). An opto-electronic converter device (1, 2, 4, 9 to 13) scans the optical sound track (3) of a film (4). Said converter device (1, 2, 4, 9 to 13) produces a digital image signal for intermediate storage in the memory (19) of a program-controlled data processing device (15). Said data processing device (15) derives the course of the two edges of the double-edged variable-width track (DZ) from data values of the intermediately stored image signal. Audio data for reproducing sound are generated using data relating to the course of the edges that is determined.
Abstract:
A passage of sound is recorded on to an electronic storage medium (12) for inclusion within a sound storage device (6, 7, 8) which is selectively engageable with an arbitrary physical object. This engagement can be provided by a number of conventional means: a spring loaded clip (particularly suitable for engagement with objects), a weakly adhesive surface, or a magnetic element. The passage of sound may then be read from the sound storage device while it remains engaged with such an arbitrary object using an appropriate sound reproduction device (4). This arrangement allows sound passages to be used in a very versatile fashion, particularly for annotation and messaging.

Abstract:
An audio processing apparatus is provided. The apparatus comprising an audio analysis unit configured to obtain a group of audio signals, each audio signal associated with an image of a group of images, the group of images being provided for a presentation having an assigned overall viewing time with each image having an assigned viewing time, and to analyze at least one of the audio signals to determine one or more intermediate audio signals for determination of an audio track having a first duration, which first duration essentially covers said assigned overall viewing time. The apparatus further comprises an audio track determination unit configured to compose the audio track having said first duration on basis of said one or more intermediate audio signals. The apparatus may further comprise a classification unit configured to obtain a plurality of audio signals, each audio signal associated with an image of a plurality of images, to obtain a plurality of location indicators, each location indicator associated with an image of the plurality of images, and to determine the group of images as a subset of the plurality of images such that the group comprises images having location indicator referring to a first location associated therewith.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for generating a sound series of photographs. A sound sequence is generated by a photographic apparatus and is audible to the user of the apparatus. At various moments during the sound sequence, the user takes pictures and the apparatus stores the moment of the shot. A table is generated by associating each photograph to a moment of the sequence when it was taken. The sound sequence is then ended, thus completing the series of photograph shots. The photographs are then assembled in order to form a single panoramic image, a portion of the panoramic image being then displayed by animation. The panoramic image thus created, the sound sequence and the table are then assembled in order to form a sound panoramic image. During the reproduction of the sound panoramic image, each photograph is displayed at the moment associated by the table. The invention also relates to a photographic apparatus for generating the sound panoramic image, and to an apparatus for reproducing the sound panoramic image.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed for playing prerecorded audio encoded in a fault tolerant manner as a series of infra-red ink dots printed along with a photographic image using an ink jet printing system, the system comprising an infra-red scanner for scanning the infra-red (IR) form of the prerecorded audio; a processor interconnected to the IR scanner for decoding the scanned audio encoding to produce a corresponding audio signal; and an audio emitter interconnected to the processor for emitting or playing the corresponding audio signal on demand. The encoding can include Reed-Solomon encoding of the prerecorded audio and can comprise an array of infrared ink dots which are high frequency modulated to aid scanning. The system can include a wand-like arm having a slot through which the photograph is inserted.
