摘要: The present application discloses methods and apparatus for arranging atoms in arrays. A system for arranging atoms within a 3-dimensional space includes an optical system (920) operable to produce a plurality of switchable optical traps (925) within the 3- dimensional space, a sensor (930) configured to detect atoms within the plurality of switchable optical traps, a scanner (990) operable to simultaneously move multiple atoms within the plurality of switchable optical traps, and at least one controller (905) configured to operate the optical system and the scanner to sort atoms within the plurality of switchable optical traps into a desired configuration of atoms, said operation of the optical system and the scanner being based at least in part on sensor data generated by the sensor detecting atoms within the plurality of switchable optical traps.

摘要: An optical tweezer phonon laser system and method for modulating mechanical vibrations of an optically levitated mechanical oscillator to produce coherence is disclosed. A feedback loop is configured to simultaneously supply an electro-optic modulator with an amplification signal and a cooling signal representing an amplification force linear in the mechanical oscillator momentum and a cooling force nonlinear in the mechanical oscillator variable position and linear in the momentum, respectively controlling the intensity of a trap beam levitating the mechanical oscillator.

摘要: Die Erfindung betrifft eine magnetooptische Falle mit einer Vakuumkammer, einer Laserkühlvorrichtung und einer Magnetfelderzeugungsvorrichtung, wobei die Magnetfelderzeugungsvorrichtung zwei Ringmagnetenpaare aufweist, um ein resultierendes Magnetfeld aus einem Ausgangsmagnetfeld und einem Kompensationsmagnetfeld zu bilden. Damit kann das resultierende Magnetfeld deutlich besser strukturiert werden, wodurch die Leistung der magnetooptischen Falle deutlich verbessert werden kann.
