Abstract: A relay control circuit for use with a relay having a coil voltage input. The relay control circuit includes a first input to receive a first voltage capable of energizing the relay from a de-energized state, a second input to receive a second voltage, less than the first voltage, that is capable of maintaining the relay in an energized state, and means, responsive to a relay control signal having one of a first state and a second state, for switchably coupling the coil voltage input to the first input for a period of time sufficient to energize the relay in response to the relay control signal having the first state, and for switchably coupling the coil voltage input to the second input in response to expiration of the period of time.

Abstract: An integral vane stop assembly for installation within the throat of a vane of a vane-type relay as a single unit while adhering to the precise tolerances necessary to maintain the vane bearings in the required alignment. The vane stop assembly includes a shaft; a pair of retainer bushings mounted on the shaft; and a resilient stop member mounted on the shaft and interposed the pair of retainer bushings. The shaft has a pair of circumferential grooves formed therein for retaining a pair of retainer bushings having a circumferential protrusion formed on an inner surface thereof. A vane-type relay including a base; at least one contact assembly mounted on the base for selectively providing one of an open and a closed circuit; a vane assembly operatively connected to the contact assembly, the vane assembly having a throat portion formed therein; a pair of legs mounted on the base for pivotably supporting the vane assembly; a coil electrically connected to a control circuit for moving the vane assembly in response to a change in current in the coil; and an integral vane stop assembly attached to the pair of legs and configured to extend through the throat portion of the vane assembly to discontinue a pivot motion of the vane assembly at a predetermined location. A method of manufacturing a vane stop assembly for a vane-type relay including the steps of forming a shaft which is configured and dimensioned to precisely fit between a pair of vane assembly support legs for the vane-type relay; press-fitting a pair of retainer bushings, having a longitudinal bore therein, on the shaft; and mounting a resilient stop member on the shaft between the pair of retainer bushings.
