Abstract: Authenticating a user account to access a remote service from a user device includes: capturing a machine-readable image code displayed on the user device using a mobile device, wherein the image code is provided by the remote service; extracting and calling a corresponding session code embedded in the image code; determining whether a phone token is in storage; one of: (a) sending the phone token to the remote service, if the phone token is in the storage; or (b) prompting a user to enter credentials including username and password and sending the entered credentials to the remote service, if the phone token is not in the storage; and receiving access to the remote service for the user device, when the session code is valid and either the credentials are valid or the phone token is confirmed.

Abstract: Technologies are disclosed herein for secure data access. A client device accesses a slice of data using a ticket retrieved from a permissioned blockchain. To obtain the ticket, the client device submits ticket requests to multiple nodes of the permissioned blockchain. Each request identifies the slice of data, e.g. a particular row in a particular database table. Each request also includes parameters describing the circumstances of the request, such as the requesting user account, the geographic location of the computing device, etc. The permissioned blockchain stores each authorized combination of request parameters and data slices in a different access level block. If an access level block can be found that is associated with the requested slice of data and with all of the supplied parameters, and if that access level block grants permission, then the requested ticket is returned to the client device.

Abstract: Policy-based genomic digital data sharing facilitates a variety of sharing scenarios, including public access, tenant-to-tenant sharing, workgroup sharing, and access by external service providers. Genomic digital data can be published to the platform and controlled by access tokens that are generated based on access policies. The policies can support conditions that are evaluated at execution time and effectively place control of access to information in hands of the owning tenant. Sharing conditions can be easily specified to support various use cases, relieving administrators from excessive access control configuration.

Abstract: A method for secure interoperability between an electronic device and a medical device has been developed. The method includes executing a control application configured to provide communication between the electronic device and medical device, receiving user authentication data from an authentication service, receiving a key identifier from the medical device via an untrusted connection, and transmitting a message with an identifier of the user, the user authentication data, the key identifier, an identifier of the control application, and a cryptographic signature to an authorization service. The method further includes receiving a medical device cryptographic key from the authorization service only in response to successful verification of the message to enable at least one of control communication and data communication between the control application and the medical device.

Abstract: An access control system is provided to prevent the surreptitious granting of access to privacy related functionality on an electronic device. Software-based events to grant access to device functionality can be validated by confirming that the software event corresponds with a hardware input event. This validation prevents the spoofing of a user interface input that may be used to fraudulently grant access to specific functionality.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling data access through the interaction of a short-range transceiver, such as a contactless card, with a client device are presented. An exemplary system and method may include establishing a database storing identifiers and keys for users and service providers, receiving from a client device of the service provider, via a network, a service provider token and a request for a data access key, the request generated in response to a tap action between a contactless card associated with a user and the client device, verifying the service provider is authorized to receive access to personal user data encrypted and stored on the contactless card, generating a data access key based on a user key, and transmitting to the service provider client device, via the network, the data access key, such that the client device may decrypt the personal user data obtained from the contactless card.
