Abstract:
The present invention provides a memory card connector in which attachment of an ejector member can be accomplished in a simple manner. The ejector member (50) used in the memory card connector (10) includes attachment structures (54) which are used to attach the ejector member to a frame (30) of the connector. Each of these mounting structures (54) includes a groove (55) and a recess (56) which communicates with the groove. A cantilever arm (58) is formed inside each recess (56). Cantilever arm (58) includes a surface (81). Claws (37), which extend from the frame (30), are accommodated inside the recesses (56). Afterward, when the ejector member (50) is caused to slide, the arms (58) bend so that the claws are guided by the surfaces (81) and introduced into the grooves (55).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electronic device with a casing consisting of a front section (5), a dished rear wall (2) and securing components (3). The casing is designed in such a way that the electronic device can be operated as a hand-held device or one which is permanently fitted in a cubicle door or a switchboard. Conversion is possible without special tooling and without additional components. The invention is applied in control panels.
Abstract:
A portable peripheral card for an electrical device is disclosed that has an injected molded housing package. In one aspect of the invention, the peripheral card has a printed circuit board, a female electrical connector, and a solid one-piece injected molded package. The printed circuit board has electrical components mounted thereon and the female electrical connector is attached to the printed circuit board to permit communications between the electrical components on the printed circuit board and the electrical device. The solid one-piece package encapsulates the printed circuit board and the electrical components yet exposes a portion of the electrical connector to facilitate electrical connections between the printed circuit board and the electrical device. In one preferred embodiment, the portable peripheral card is a PCMCIA card. Methods of manufacturing such peripheral cards are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A computing system comprises a connection system for coupling wireless technologies to a computer. The connection system comprises a card connector and a matting internal connector cage/frame. The card connector provides an RF connector positioned above a 68 pin connector, which provides a connection to radio frequency (RF) signals. A card has devices which support RF operations for the computing system. The card connector is attached to the card and interfaces with the devices on the card. The housing of the computing system defines a card slot which receives the card and guides connection of the card with the computing system by mating the card connector with the internal connector.
Abstract:
A housing for an electronic appliance has a ventilation device. In order to obtain an outstandingly airtight seal when leads are inserted, a brush seal with facing bristles is arranged on parts of the contact surfaces between the housing and the housing wall. When the housing wall is mounted on the housing, the bristles interlock in an airtight manner. The invention is particularly applicable to housings for data processing equipment.
Abstract:
It is disclosed a safety device for ensuring electronic equipment, e.g. computers, against theft, said device comprising two mainly parallel side surfaces or edge lists for said surfaces (1, 2) being connected to each other via a bottom or edge list for such a bottom (3), where the side surfaces (1, 2) at their upper edges comprise securing devices (4, 5) for the device to a surface, and where there between the edge lists or side surfaces (1, 2) of the device runs at least one lockable bar/barrier/door/plate (7). The device is preferably made of a metal or a metal alloy, e.g. steel.
Abstract:
An electronic assembly for connecting to an electronic system is disclosed which includes, in one embodiment, a connector having a group of contacts, each contact having a mating portion and an interconnect finger. A first circuitry module includes a group of leads providing a signal path to electronic components contained therewithin, wherein each of the leads is coupled directly to an interconnect finger of a corresponding one of the group of connector contacts. A protective body is rigidly coupled to the first connector and is formed to encase the first circuitry module and to provide support and protection to the circuitry module. In another embodiment suitable for a PCMCIA card assembly, each of a group of leads of a leaded chip-carrier module is directly connected to interconnect fingers of the connector. All the electronic circuitry of the electronic assembly is contained within the leaded chip-carrier, which affords a manufacturing cost of the PCMCIA card assembly which is leveraged by semiconductor assembly advances rather than driven largely by traditional surface mount technology (SMT) on printed wiring boards (PWB).
Abstract:
There is provided an enclosure that encapsulates a current transformer (1) by utilizing snap together members (12, 14) while allowing for electrical coupling between the transformer and external wiring. Two housing members (9, 11) will snap together while capturing the transformer in a rigid fashion to avoid excess vibration or friction, which could fatigue the transformer's wiring.
Abstract:
A case (1) for housing the cord (A) of an electric appliance, which is folded in the middle. The case comprises an integrally molded hollow body of a soft elastic material, a slit (3) for passing the cord (A) through, and locking sections (2 and 2a) provided at the ends of the slit (3) and serving as the exit or entrance of the cord (A). The softness of the case (1) is such that the case can be expanded by hand for putting and taking out the cord (A) in and from the case (1), and the elasticity of the case (1) is such that the cord (A) housed in the case (1) cannot come out of the case (1). Each of the locking sections (2 and 2a) is composed of one hole (2) continuously formed from one end of the slit (3) and a return section which is formed at the connection between the hole (2) and slit (3) and slopes down to the center of the hole (2).
Abstract:
This invention is directed to a PCMCIA frame kit having improved stability, where the kit is intended to receive a planar electronic device for electrical engagement with a complementary device in electronic equipment. The kit comprises a pair of matable, metal cover members (12, 14), where each cover member is integrally molded to a dielectric frame (16, 40) upon which the planar electronic device is seated. The improved feature is the provision of each frame including at least a pair of side rails, where at least one side rail pair on one cover member includes plural, circular, upstanding pins (24) having a predetermined diameter, the matable side rail on the other cover member includes a like plurality of holes (62) to receive a corresponding pin. In a preferred embodiment, the cross section of holes exhibits a multi-sided configuration with the diametrical distance between opposing corners being slightly greater than the predetermined diameter, and the diametrical distance between opposing sides is slightly less than the predetermined diameter. By this arrangement a normal force applied between the covers effects a force fit between each respective pin and its multi-sided hole.
