Abstract:
Agricultural planting implements, as well as other ground-engaging implements, can utilize supplemental force assemblies to provide up and/or down force at the row or rows of the implements. The force can be used to overcome changing field conditions, obstructions, as well as changing particulate amounts and weights carried by the rows of the implements, and the implement itself. The up force can be set at system pressure, or can include control valves at each of the row units to control the amount of up force provided. The down force can be controlled by control valves at each of the row units, and can be used to overcome the up pressure or provide a designated amount of down force to the row.
Abstract:
A drill attachment (1) for tilling soil has an extended drill shaft (10) that is coupled with a till plate (30). The combination may be driven by an ordinary hand drill. Drill shaft (10) has a stabilizer tip (11) that protrudes beyond till plate (30). Till plate (30) includes a plurality of teeth (32-34, 36-38) that dig into and work top soil, while a generally planar disk-shaped body member (39) at the top of till plate (30) prevents till plate (30) from sinking below the surface of the soil. Teeth (32-34, 36-38) are stamped from till plate (30), forming openings in the generally planar disk-shaped body member (39). These openings and other optional openings (35) cooperate with the teeth (32-34, 36-38) to further break up clumps of soil, and help to balance forces from the teeth (32-34, 36-38) pulling into the soil against the force of the body member (39) that resists sinking into the earth. Optional weed-out and hole tools are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A scarifier intended for forest rejuvenation purposes comprises a frame (5) which supports at least one scarifying device and has means for coupling the unit to a traction vehicle (1). The scarifier device comprises a brush (6) the purpose of which is to free the ground from the plant surface layer or organic debris without digging itself down in the ground. The coupling means includes a universal hinge (9) located at a front end of the frame (5) which hinge permits pivoting the unit relative to the traction vehicle horizontally as well as vertically, as well as lifting mechanism (11) by means of which the unit may, when necessary, be lifted up from a floating state on the ground. The frame has a second universal hinge (9A) at the rear end thereof, to which one or more other brush-equipped units (3) and/or a subsoil-consolidation device (4) may, when necessary, be coupled.
Abstract:
(a) A tiller (100) with chassis (114), pair of handles (112, 113), power unit (116), single ground engaging wheel means (115), tines (117), wherein simultaneously raising one handle (112 or 113) and lowering the other twists the chassis (114) to lower one tine (117) and raise the other. (b) A tine arrangement with a plurality of tine groups, each group comprising a pair of blades, with each blade (117) having a pair of upturned tips. (c) A method of tilling with tines (117) supported by a single ground engaging wheel means (115) wherein the height of the tines (117) is adjusted by adjusting the support for the wheel means (115). (d) A method of tilling with a tiller (100) having tines (117) wherein the tiller (100) is supported by an arm having a single ground engaging wheel means (115), pivoting the arm and locking in position to adjust the height of the tiller (100). (e) An implement (100) with a third handle along the chassis (114) of the implement (100). (f) An implement (100) with a chassis (114) formed from two longitudinally split components. (g) A blade cover (119) that is thin and curved to lie in an arc spaced from the rotating tips of tines (117) on a tiller (100). (h) An attachment for a tiller with a V-shaped tip and shaped to form a furrow.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for producing a plurality of spaced apart cultivated spots in soil. A spot cultivator (I) is moved across the soil in a direction in which the spaced apart cultivated spots are to be formed. The spot cultivator (I) includes at least one tilling shaft (7) which is mounted to roll about a horizontal axis which moves with the spot cultivator (I) and which is rotatable about a longitudinal axis of at least one tilling shaft (7). At least one tilling shaft (7) is rolled about the horizontal axis in a plane which intersects the soil. The at least one tilling shaft (7) has a length sufficient to contact and penetrate the soil at a controlled spacing during each rotation about the horizontal axis.
Abstract:
An agricultural implement that can concurrently cultivate and spray includes an implement support frame. A plurality of cultivator row units is coupled with the implement support frame. Each cultivator row unit of the plurality of cultivator row units includes a dispatching implement. A sprayer system coupled with the implement support frame includes a fluid holding tank coupled with the implement support frame. The sprayer system includes a fluid pump in fluid communication with the fluid holding tank. The sprayer system includes a plurality of fluid nozzles in fluid communication with the fluid holding tank. Each of the fluid nozzles of the plurality of fluid nozzles is configured to direct fluid between cultivator shovels of the plurality of cultivator row units.

Abstract:
In an agricultural machine provided with a drivable soil and/or crop working member there is provided a storage medium (1), connected to the agricultural machine, in which a desired relation between the rpm of the working member and the driving speed of the agricultural machine is stored. The agricultural machine is provided with means (2 - 6) for regulating, on the basis of the relation stored, the rpm of the working member in dependence of the current driving speed of the agricultural machine. In this manner, the optimum rpm for the driven soil and/or crop working member can always be set at any driving speed, which results in an improved soil and/or crop working.
