Abstract: Systems and methods are provided related to signal conditioning and analysis methods for detecting respiratory events of a human or an animal. Respiratory events detected can either serve as input to a drug delivery system or be a stand-alone breath detection device. Various methods for sensing respiratory events, processing respiratory signals, and analyzing respiratory signals are provided with the goal of enabling accurate and reliable detection of specific types of events in a respiratory cycle.

Abstract: A current sensor may take measurements of electrical currents that flow between two limbs of a patient through at least a portion of the patient ' s torso. The current measurements may be taken during a single diagnostic session while the patient holds a ground electrode in a hand of one limb and a probe electrode is sequentially placed at different locations on the distal portions of other limbs. Each of the measurement locations may be an acupuncture point. An electrical current state for the diagnostic session may be calculated. This state may consist of current ranges for one or more electrical currents that are measured during the session. A lookup table may be employed to determine one or more medical conditions that are indicated by the current state. Alternatively, a trained machine learning model may predict, based on the measured currents, one or more medical conditions.

Abstract: An untethered robotic pill system for collecting biomarkers from human and animal body cavities includes (i) a robotic pill adapted to collect a biofluid containing biomarkers as the robotic pill travels through a human cavity and (ii) a motive system adapted to perform at least one of directing a position of the robotic pill and maintaining the position of the robotic pill within the human cavity. The robotic pill can collect biomarkers such as extracellular vesicles at a particular position or as it travels through the body cavity or cavities. In this way, the robotic pill and untethered robotic pill system can be used to collect useful spatially-specific biomarkers and be used to map a gastrointestinal or genitourinary or respiratory tract. Such a system may be used to map the secretome of these locations, such as gut, and may be used in targeted therapies, such as molecularly- or immunologically-targeted therapies.

Abstract: A vertebral endplate preparation (decorticating) tool (110) has height adjustable blades (136, 137) at a distal end (120) of a shaft assembly (114) for decorticating/shaving vertebral endplate material from spinal vertebrae, translates axial movement of a control rod of the shaft assembly of the vertebral endplate preparation tool with height adjustable blades into radial blade height change (extension and retraction) through a controller (113) of a handle assembly (112). The blades may also be configured for collecting and removing shaven vertebral endplate material. The blades controllably move outward radially from the distal end of the shaft assembly and controllably move inward radially into the distal end of the shaft assembly upon manipulation of the controller. Radial blade extension and retraction from the distal end may be accomplished via mutual angled dovetail features (138, 139, 148,149; 166, 167, 164, 165) of the blades and the distal end, or via pins (1100, 1101 ) of the distal end of the shaft assembly situated in angled slots (187, 188; 195, 196) of the blades.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a radiofrequency (RF) treatment are provided. In some embodiments, the method can include: performing, using a programmable controller, at least the following functions of: measuring an electrical energy flow through a grounding pad that is in contact with at least a portion of skin of a subject's skin; determining, based on the measured electrical energy flow, a heating factor that represents a measure of heat absorbed by the subject over a period of time in response to treatment of the subject with an electrical radiofrequency probe; and comparing the heating factor to a predetermined threshold. In response to determining from the comparison that the heating factor is approaching or greater than the predetermined threshold value, the method can include disabling the radiofrequency generator or changing the electrical energy flow such that the controller regulates the electrical energy flow using a closed loop feedback system.

Abstract: One or more non-transitory machine-readable media to store data and instructions executable by one or more processors. The instructions are programmed to analyze workflow data for a given phase of a plurality of phases of an ongoing electrophysiology (EP) workflow implemented using a first computing apparatus. The instructions can also determine at least one support event based on the analysis of the workflow data and send a request to at least one remote support specialist responsive to determining the at least one support event. The instructions further can establish a communication link between the first computing apparatus and a second computing apparatus, which is associated with a respective remote support specialist, and enable user interaction with and control of the machine-readable EP workflow instructions on the first computing apparatus responsive to a user input by the respective remote support specialist at the second computing apparatus.
