    Abstract: Described herein are percutaneous treatment tools and methods for applying electric treatment to a target tissue, hi some examples the treatment tools described herein allow for adjusting the spacing between the proximal electrode(s) and the distal electrode of the treatment tools. The treatment tools described herein may also be configured to reduce peak electric field for a given potential and/or to increase hoop stress on the tissue upon insertion of the tip to prevent or reduce arcing between the electrodes.

    Abstract: A scissor style vessel sealer having a first shaft interconnected to a first jaw by a pivot plate that pivotally couples the first shaft to the first jaw by the pivot and also by a spring that is secured at one end to the first shaft and an opposing end to the pivot plate at a location offset from the pivot and a second shaft connected to a second jaw and pivotally coupled to the first jaw by the pivot. The first shaft and the second shaft are then pivotable from a jaws open position to a jaw closed position. Any further application of force results in the first shaft pivoting relative to the first jaw so that the additional force is not transmitted to the jaws. The first shaft pivoting relative to the first jaw may actuate a button associated with the second shaft.

    Abstract: A multifunction surgical instrument having a low-profile configuration to deliver both small vessel sealing through a bipolar clamping mechanism and transcollation sealing of diffused bleeding in a broad tissue plane, the multifunction surgical instrument including a first jaw and a second jaw configured to transition between an open position and a closed position to serve as a clamp for sealing of tissue, and a disposable electrode portion comprising a first conductive surface positioned in proximity to the first jaw and a second conductive surface positioned in proximity to the second jaw, the first and second conductive surfaces configured to emit a high-frequency alternating current, and two or more electrodes and at least one saline port, wherein the two or more electrodes in the at least one saline port cooperate to affect transcollation sealing of diffused bleeding within a broad tissue plane.
