    Abstract: A lift structure for an aerodrome structure comprises: an upstanding tubular frame comprising an upper ring located over a base ring and supported thereon by columns; a platform located within the tubular frame; and a lift mechanism arranged to raise and lower the platform between the base ring and the upper ring. The columns are spaced apart from each other to provide a side opening for loading an aircraft onto the platform and unloading an aircraft therefrom when the platform is in a lowered position. The platform provides a take-off and landing pad for an aircraft when the platform is in a raised position. An aerodrome structure comprises the lift structure and additional elements.

    Abstract: A drone pod may receive, stow, and launch a drone. The drone pod may include a housing, a canopy movably coupled to the housing, a platform movably coupled to the housing, and a drone bay. The drone pod may be configured to move the canopy to expose the drone bay and raise the platform relative to a floor of the drone bay to receive the drone, lower the platform toward the floor of the drone bay and move the canopy to enclose the drone bay to stow the drone, move the canopy to expose the drone bay and raise the platform relative to the floor of the drone bay to launch the drone. The drone pod may be mounted on a vehicle. A system may include a drone pod and a drone, wherein the drone pod is configured to receive, stow, and launch the drone.

    Abstract: An active docking station enables improved operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The docking station comprises: a base structure which secures the station to a mounting location; a robotic motion system connected to the base structure; a capture mechanism connected to the robotic motion system, where the robotic motion system moves the capture mechanism in at least two dimensions to first capture a UAV and then reposition a captured UAV relative to the base structure; and at least one of: an electrical connection for recharging electric UAVs, a mechanism for replacing batteries of electric UAVs, or pumps and mechanisms for refuelling UAVs with consumable fuel such as liquids or pressurised gases.

    Abstract: An urban air mobility building-top skyport for landing, loading and unloading, servicing, and parking short field takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft, which includes a rotatable flight deck having at least one runway on which aircraft takeoff and land; a rotatable lower deck immediately below the flight deck and including an aircraft taxiway surrounding an enclosed central terminal with an elevator bank; and first and second aircraft ramps connecting the flight deck and the lower deck on which to taxi aircraft between the flight deck and the lower deck. A battery-swap station robotically replaces depleted batteries with fully charged batteries without the need for aircraft to cease moving at slow taxi speeds at any point during the process.
