In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to detecting a mis-scan of an item. In some embodiments, there is provided a system for detecting a mis-scan of an item for purchase comprising a checkout station; a first staging location; a second staging location; a first area of interest at the checkout station; a second area of interest at the checkout station; a camera; and a control circuit configured to: receive an identifier of a first item; detect a hand of a user purchasing the first item, the first item, and a scanner on a first image captured by the camera; in response to the detection of the hand, the first item, and the scanner, initiate detection of mis-scan items during a checkout process; determine that a payment transaction has been received; and stop the detection of mis-scan items.

An example system includes a client interface to receive a print job from a client device, wherein the print job includes a user identifier (UID) and a current user location. The example system further includes a controller having an adaptive caching portion to determine that the current user location is a new user location for the UID, identify at least one printer identifier (PID) associated with the new user location, and associate the UID with the new user location and the at least one PID. The invention concerns a system and a method for managing the occupation of shared spaces. The system comprises at least a display device (12) at the shared space, configured to display a status of availability of the shared space, a central server (11) and a first communication means (13) between the display device (12) and said central server (11). The first communication means (13) have an active and an inactive mode, and comprise a bidirectional wireless first communication channel (13'). The first communication means (13) are in inactive mode by default and comprise a first display device communication module (14) placed in the display device (12) and a first server communication module (15) connected to the central server (11), said first display device communication module (14) being switched off when the first communication means (13) is in inactive mode and being switched on when said first communication means (13) is in active mode. The display device (12) comprise a bistable display and activating means (20) of said first communication means (13). The invention automatically generates a QSL card, a template previously loaded, when an electronic confirmation of the contact between two stations matches each other logbooks. The card can only be obtain in a print fashion via online printers previously registered, and the card can not be saved in any place outside the server before the confirmation between both stations. The QSL cards are coded with ID serial numbers and traceable through commercial printers and personal printers services to prevent any fraud. The invention provides a more robust QSO Confirmation System, taken advantages of the best technologies available today while maintaining a very important radio amateur tradition.
