A method is provided of establishing a direct communication session by a central service agent between a calling unit and an anonymous unit without revealing the permanent direct access information of the anonymous unit to a calling member. The central service agent is configured to be able to identify a request by a calling member, associated with the calling unit, for future access to a called member associated with the anonymous unit, where the permanent direct access information of the anonymous unit is unknown to the calling member. Once the request is received, the agent assigns a temporary alias ID corresponding, on a temporary basis, to the permanent direct access information of the anonymous unit to facilitate establishing a direct communication session between the calling and anonymous units using at least the temporary alias ID. Upon the occurrence of a predetermined timeout condition, the agent deassigns the temporary alias to prevent further access to the anonymous unit thereafter. In an alternative embodiment, the real and permanent ID is communicated, on a temporary basis, to a specific calling unit, transparent to the caller, thus maintaining anonymity.

A system and method are provided for providing multiple aliases and associated policy profiles for a user of a VoIP communication system. The user configures a multitude of aliases by the user wishes to be contacted, and associates with each alias a policy stored at a user terminal. The aliases are stored within the network so as to be associated with contact information for the user terminal. A proxy processes call requests by determining the contact information associated with an alias entered by a caller, and forwards the call request to the user terminal associated with the contact information. The user terminal determines the alias used by the caller, and processes the connection request in accordance with the policy. The invention allows users to add and delete aliases in order to effect temporary and private contact information. Calls can be handled depending on which alias was used by a caller, rather than on an identification of the device used by the caller. The proxy may also store proxy policies in association with the aliases and process call requests accordingly, such as billing a call request to a customer account specified by the proxy policy corresponding to the alias entered by a caller.

An up-sampled data stream, upsampled times a factor P, is generated by the input block providing signal samples having a frequency rate, while an intermediate data stream is generated by a Rate Adapting Stage providing signal samples adapted to an intermediate frequency rate. An output data stream is delivered by a final low pass filter, and includes M signal samples having a desired output sample frequency rate (fOUT=M/Ts). The method provides generation of a provisional stream in the Rate Adapting Stage, wherein this provisional stream is affected by aliases falling within the output Nyquist band [−fOUT/2, fOUT/2], although being adapted to the output frequency rate by a direct insertion of zero samples into the processed stream when LM. Then these aliases are suppressed in the Rate Adapting Stage by weighting the provisional stream via a set of weights.

A processor system and method that reduces the number of register value copying made from alias registers to corresponding real (architectural) registers. The method entails determining whether to copy the register value generated by executing an instruction from the alias register to the real register at the time the reorder buffer entry associated with the alias register is needed for a new instruction. If before the reorder buffer is needed for a new instruction, an interim instruction resulted in a new register value for the real register, then the original register value would be invalid at the time the reorder buffer entry is needed for the new instruction. Thus, there would not be a need to copy the original register value to the real register. The reduction in copying can make the processor system consume less power.

An apparatus and method for providing Single Sign-On services to a user when accessing a selected Service Provider from a plurality of Service Providers. An Authentication Provider authenticates the user at with a user-identity, provides the user with a token as proof of the authentication, and assigns a temporary alias-identity to the user for use when the user accesses the selected Service Provider. The Authentication Provider and the selected Service Provider link the assigned alias-identity and the user-identity to identify the user at respective sites. The user accesses the selected Service Provider by presenting the token along with a local user-identity valid for the selected Service Provider. When the user attempts a subsequent access at the selected Service Provider, the user is identified by the shared alias-identity, if the user allowed permanent linking. If the user did not allow permanent linking, the process is repeated for each subsequent access.

PURPOSE: An electronic bidding method for guaranteeing objectivity by offering the bidding or estimation information separated into an absolute and a relative comparison part, and opening an evaluating result and a bidding price is provided to prevent the contents of the estimation or a bidding document from being exposed to other person by encrypting the related information. CONSTITUTION: A bidder encrypts the absolute comparison part by using a provided biding key and stores it in a database. The bidder encrypts the relative comparison part by using a price key set by the bidder and stores it in the database(107). An arranging server encrypts an ID part of the bidder by using an intrinsic key and assigns a temporary alias to the bidder(108). A buyer requests evaluation to an evaluator by decrypting the absolute comparison part. An evaluation result encrypted by an evaluation key of the buyer is stored in the database. The bidder provides the price key to the database. The buyer provides the evaluation key to the database. The evaluation result for the absolute and the relative comparison part is opened with the alias by using the price key and the evaluation key(119).

Methods and systems to allow individuals participating in social networks to establish pseudonymity amongst people they know in real life or in a virtual context are disclosed. In one embodiment, the present invention provides the assignment of disposable aliases or other temporary forms of personal identity, such as an image, to users in a virtual network to obfuscate their real identities or persistent online identities. Another paradigm introduces the notion of a private group or “campfire” where invited users (whether initiated by an individual or systematically broadcast to a broad or limited group) are allowed or expected to use such dynamic aliases to facilitate protected online interaction, expression, and discourse with the group at large (campfire), rather than as multiple one-to-one conversations (hub and spoke).

A database system rewrites database queries based on rewrite constraints specification. The rewrite constraints specification provides directives to the database system to generate temporary tables for storing intermediate results of database queries and rewrite the corresponding database queries in terms of the temporary tables. The subqueries for matching the rewrite constraints specification may be specified in various ways. For example, the rewrite constraints specification may identify the subqueries by using one or more aliases. The rewrite constraints specification may specify a list of tables such that all database queries that join the database tables specified in the rewrite constraints specification are determined to match. The optimizer is able to optimize the rewritten database queries better by getting a better estimate for the statistics describing the temporary tables.

The present invention relates to method for the Implementation of a L:M Fractional Sample Rate Converter (F-SRC), based on a controlled and direct insertion/cancellation of samples in a processed data stream wherein:

  • an input data stream (DATA_IN) is received by an input block, processing L signal samples ( x(m)) having an input frequency rate (fIN) in a predetermined time interval (TS);
  • an up-sampled data stream (DATA_IN1), upsampled times a factor P, is generated by the input block providing signal samples (x1(h)) having a frequency rate PfIN;
  • an intermediate data stream (DATA_IMD1) generated by a Rate Adapting Stage providing signal samples (y1(k)) adapted to an intermediate frequency rate (PfOUT);
  • an output data stream (DATA_OUT) delivered by a final low pass filter, including M signal samples having a desired output sample frequency rate (fOUT=M/TS).

The method provides generation of a provisional stream (DATA_DTY) in said Rate Adapting Stage, wherein this provisionalstream is affected by aliases falling within the output Nyquist band [-fOUT/2, fOUT/2], although being adapted to the output frequency rate by a direct insertion of zero samples into the processed stream when L<M, or by a direct cancellation of samples when L>M. Then these aliases are suppressed in said Rate Adapting Stage by weighting the said provisional stream by means of a set of weights Wg(k). The up-sampling rate P in a lot of cases of practical interest turns out to be much lower then M, differently then in previous art implementation, therefore saving MOPS and HW resources.
