This invention relates to a method of measuring mass flow of a first gas component in a gas consisting of one or more known gas components. Typically such methods assume that certain parameters were constant, such as the gas composition, pressure and/or temperature, and likewise the heat capacity, density, etc., of the gas were presumed to be such that they could be determined to have a constant value. However, it has been found that the determination of the mass flow is associated with a comparatively high degree of measurement uncertainty, when it is assumed that the parameters are constant. The core of the invention relies on this discovery and on a method wherein all of the gas parameters that are used in the determination of the mass flow of the first gas component and that may vary considerably as a function of the gas composition, pressure and/or temperature are determined continually.

Symbolic execution identifies possible execution paths of a computer program or method, each having certain constraints over the input values. The symbolic execution also records updates of memory locations, e.g. updates of the fields of symbolic objects in the heap of an object oriented program, involving a description of the previous heap, the updated symbolic object, a field identification, and a newly assigned symbolic value. The symbolic execution can also record calls to summarized methods, involving a description of previous calls, an identification of the summarized methods, and its symbolic arguments. The behavior of summarized methods can be expressed by axioms. Axioms describe the relationship between summarized methods under certain conditions. Axioms can be generated from parameterized unit tests. A parameterized unit test is a method with parameters which executes a sequence of calls to methods of an implementation under test; it asserts constraints over the inputs and outputs of the calls. A software testing program receives a parameterized unit test of an implementation under test, and symbolically executes the parameterized unit test. It can re-use axioms generated from other parameterized unit tests, and use them to emulate summarized methods.

What is more, volumes are allocated to a host machine after said system considers both the redundancy of a backend network of between storage apparatuses and that of a network path between the host machine and storage apparatus.

In order to be able to use a smaller routing table (4) and, thus, to reduce the costs and power consumption and to improve the performance of an IP router, it is proposed to extract a destination address identifier (ADR) from a data packet to be forwarded by the IP router, compress the extracted destination address identifier (ADR) by using a lossless data compression algorithm, and compare the compressed destination address identifier with entries stored in the routing table (4) so as to find a correspondence between the destination address identifier and one of the entries of the routing table (4). Each entry of the routing table (4) corresponds to a possible or available forwarding address of the IP router, the forwarding addresses having been compressed with the same data compression algorithm as the destination address identifier. After having found a correspondence between the destination address identifier and one of the compressed forwarding addresses stored in the routing table (4), a switch (6) of the IP router switches the respective data packet to one of its output links (OUT) which is associated with the respective forwarding address matching the destination address identifier (ADR).

Described is a technology in a network load balancing system (node cluster), by which client affinity is preserved across cluster configuration changes, including for new connections from a previous client. Each node maintains a list of the clients that are to remain (have affinity, or “stickiness”) with that node, including following bucket redistribution resulting from convergence. Each affinity list is communicated during convergence so that other nodes may build an exception list or lists. Via a node's exception list, the node that owns a bucket corresponding to a client knows of the affinity with another node and thus drops any packets from that client. Affinity may expire, whereby the node having affinity with that client releases it and notifies the node owning the bucket for that client that the client is no longer to be treated as an exception.

A device detects a first signal on a channel that is one of a plurality of channels arranged in a first order on a list, with each channel being associated with a different site in a multi-site communication system. Upon detecting the first signal, the device attempts to measure and record signal strength of a signal at each channel on the list based on the first order beginning with the detected first signal, and selects as a home site the site associated with the channel having the signal with the highest recorded signal strength. The device rearranges the channels on the list into a second order based on the recorded signal strengths with the home site channel at the top. If necessary, the radio attempts to awaken its repeaters one after another based on the second order until a repeater is found to transmit a signal.
