The architecture implements A-buffer in hardware by extending hardware to efficiently store a variable amount of data for each pixel. In operation, a prepass is performed to generate the counts of the fragments per pixel in a count buffer, followed by a prefix sum pass on the generated count buffer to calculate locations in a fragment buffer in which to store all the fragments linearly. An index is generated for a given pixel in the prefix sum pass and stored in a location buffer. Access to the pixel fragments is then accomplished using the index. Linear storage of the data allows for a fast rendering pass that stores all the fragments to a memory buffer without needing to look at the contents of the fragments. This is then followed by a resolve pass on the fragment buffer to generate the final image.

External portable medical devices, such as portable external defibrillators (PEDs), have long standby times and may be required to indicate their operational status to a user while conserving battery power. Frequently, numerous PEDs are scattered throughout one or more large facility, which may make identifying a PED that is indicating an operational status that requires attention more difficult. To conserve power and provide more effective notice, a PED may use a broadcast transmitter, which minimizes power usage, to communicate the PED's status to a remote monitor that is connected to a relatively unlimited power supply. The remote monitor may then provide a wide variety of sensory alerts to indicate the status of the PED without concern for the power consumption associated with the sensory alert.

A mobile security monitoring method and system are provided. An alarm security node communicates with an intelligent security that is activated by a breach in a security zone. This breach starts a video monitoring/recording sequence that is sent out via broadband link to an alarm center. This minimizes false alarm generation and thus cuts down the costs of following upon false alarm(s) by an alarm security provider. For security and cost reasons, the intelligent security system may be the only client of the server-side alarm center. Existing IT infrastructure at the security zone can be used such as W-LAN, broadband, GPRS, and mobile devices. An array of thyristor detector devices is provided having an epitaxial growth structure with complementary types of modulation doped quantum well interfaces located between a P+ layer and an N+ layer. The thyristor detector devices operate over successive cycles that each include a sequence of two distinct modes: a setup mode and a signal acquisition mode. During the setup mode, the n-type quantum well interface and/or the p-type quantum well interface is(are) substantially emptied of charge. During the signal acquisition mode, photocurrent is generated by the thyristor detector device in response to the absorption of incident electromagnetic radiation therein, which can induce the thyristor detector device to switch from an OFF state to an ON state. A method and apparatus is provided for improving implant uniformity of an ion beam experiencing pressure increase along the beam line. The method comprises generating a main scan waveform that moves an ion beam at a substantially constant velocity across a workpiece. A compensation waveform (e.g., quadratic waveform), having a fixed height and waveform, is also generated and mixed with the main scan waveform (e.g., through a variable mixer) to form a beam scanning waveform. The mixture ratio may be adjusted by an instantaneous vacuum pressure signal, which can be performed at much higher speed and ease than continuously modifying scan waveform. The mixture provides a beam scanning waveform comprising a non-constant slope that changes an ion beam's velocity as it moves across a workpiece. Therefore, the resultant beam scanning waveform, with a non-constant slope, is able to account for pressure non-uniformities in dose along the fast scan direction.

A crate system for transport of items. The system includes a set of U shaped tubes that are mounted in an upright position on beams. A second set of U shaped tubes are also mounted in an upright position on beams. Each assembled set are then mounted on top of one another to form a crate system. The crate system can safely secure and even stack heavy items on top of one another. These crate systems can then be disassembled for packing and shipping back to the original shipper.

The Invention relates to a drawn polymer film, comprising (A) a polymer or polymer blend and at least (B) one additional component with an average particle diameter of between 0.1 and 15 μm, which by means of (C) one or several secondary treatment steps is processed to form a membrane after being drawn. The average particle diameter of component (B) ranges between 0.1 and 15 μm, preferably 0.5-8.0 μm, with the range between 1.0 and 7.0 μm being particularly preferred. The membranes are used for alkene-alkane separation, electrodialysis, the desalinisation of seawater, in fuel cell applications and other membrane applications.

An elastic wafer-retaining cushion sheet is disposed at a wafer retaining position on the top of a wafer tray. The wafer-retaining cushion sheet has a releasably suction-adhering surface that releasably adheres by suction to the wafer tray. Consequently, there is no likelihood of the semiconductor wafer being damaged during transport or the like. In addition, the wafer-retaining cushion sheet can be readily attached to and detached from the wafer tray for washing or replacement according to need.

A themolaminating film for receiving a blister portion in the construction of a reusable package is described. A base blister portion configured to receive some form of media or material is molded from a formable heat sealable polymer such as PETG. A film consisting of a first layer of an amorphous polyester such as APET for heat sealing to the PETG, a second layer of a polyester such as PET, and an adhesive layer is used to laminate a graphical paper based cover thereby allowing the laminated cover to be heat sealed to the blister portion. In a preferred embodiment, the PET and APET are preferably coextruded.

A conveying device (100) according to the invention includes several conveying bodies (102), which roll on a guidance (101) via several rolls (3), wherein the rolls (3) are connected and mutually distanced by means of a flexible connecting body (9) The conveying bodies (102) include means (103; 104, 105) for mutual support, which prevent a movement of the conveying bodies (102) out of the guidance (101). A connecting body (9) and allocated rolls (3) form a roll body (2), wherein the roll body (2), on average, includes two or less than two rolls (3) per conveying body (102). A roll body (2) for a conveying device (100) includes a plurality of rolls (3) mutually connected in a linear manner, wherein the rolls (3) are mutually connected and distanced by means of a flexible and in particular also elastic connecting body (9). In a preferred embodiment, the connecting body (9) may be bent in at least two directions.

A device for supplying boards to crosscut saws has a feeding device and a transverse transport unit arranged downstream of the feeding device. Several loading planes are arranged downstream of the transverse transport unit and positioned at different levels. The boards are supplied on the loading planes to a crosscut saw, respectively. The transverse transport unit is adjustable relative to the loading planes about an axis that is transverse to a transport direction of the boards on the transverse transport unit. A stop is adjustably arranged in the transport path of the boards on the transverse transport unit, wherein the stop, without sensing the boards, is adjustable exclusively by a control unit of the device. When the transverse transport unit is being adjusted into a new position relative to the loading planes, the stop prevents further transport of the boards to the loading planes, respectively.

The invention concerns a hydraulic steering with a steering initiator, a steering unit with feedback properties, which can be activated by the steering initiator, the steering unit having a supply connection arrangement with a pressure connection (P) and a tank connection (T) and a working connection arrangement with two working connections (L, R), an auxiliary-force operated steering valve, which is located in parallel with the steering unit between the supply connection arrangement (P, T) and the working connection arrangement (L, R), and a feedback suppressing device, which is active, when the steering valve is active. It is endeavored to find a simple manner of ensuring the priority of the steering initiator over the steering valve. For this purpose, the steering initiator interacts with an activation sensor, which deactivates the feedback suppressing device on an activation of the steering initiator.
