A variable angle slant hole (VASH) collimator for providing collimation of high energy photons such as gamma rays during radiological imaging of humans. The VASH collimator includes a stack of multiple collimator leaves and a means of quickly aligning each leaf to provide various projection angles. Rather than rotate the detector around the subject, the VASH collimator enables the detector to remain stationary while the projection angle of the collimator is varied for tomographic acquisition. High collimator efficiency is achieved by maintaining the leaves in accurate alignment through the various projection angles. Individual leaves include unique angled cuts to maintain a precise target collimation angle. Matching wedge blocks driven by two actuators with twin-lead screws accurately position each leaf in the stack resulting in the precise target collimation angle. A computer interface with the actuators enables precise control of the projection angle of the collimator.

A delay time counter in a DSP cyclically counts a sampling clock from zero to a delay time sampling count and issues a delay time interrupt to a CPU each time the sampling clock count reaches the delay time sampling count. The CPU measures a time difference between each time the DSP issues the delay time interrupt and each time sequence clock interrupts occur a number of times corresponding to the delay time. Then, in order to reduce this time difference, the CPU increases or decreases a maximum count that is set to the sequence clock counter. Therefore, in the next delay process, the shift between the time by which the automatic performance is advanced by the CPU (which is equal to the delay time) and the timing of the delay process executed by the DSP (which is also equal in length to the delay time) will be corrected.

Decrementing index values associated with ones of the second reference images. Removing a reference record associated with one of the second reference images from the database based on a corresponding one of the second index values satisfying a first condition, the removal of the reference record reducing the storage space required to store reference records in the database.

Various embodiments provide an optimized image filter. The optimized image and video obtains an input image and selects a target pixel for modification. Difference values are then determined between the selected target pixel and each reference pixel of a search area. Subsequently, a weighting function is used to determine weight values for each of the reference pixels of the search area based on their respective difference value. The selected target pixel is then modified by the optimized image filter using the determined weight values. A new target pixel in an apply patch is then selected for modification. The new target pixel is modified using the previously determined weight values reassigned to a new set of reference pixels. The previously determined weight values are reassigned to the new set of reference pixels based on each of the new set of reference pixels' position relative to the new target pixel.

In order to authenticate a user of an electronic device, an image of the user's fingerprint is captured. Before feature information is extracted, the fingerprint image is enhanced via localized normalization thereby increasing contrast within the fingerprint image. Thereafter, feature information, such as key point data, is extracted from the image and compared to a predefined template to determine whether the feature information matches the template. If so, the user is authenticated. By enhancing the quality of the fingerprint image through localized normalization and other techniques, the reliability of the matching operation is significantly enhanced. In addition, using key point comparisons for assessing similarity between the feature information and the template helps to address inconsistencies relating to finger rotation, scale, and translation during capture.

The present invention relates to object storage systems that support hierarchical directories within a namespace manifest stored as an object. The namespace manifest is stored as namespace manifest shards that are determined based on a partial key derived from the full name of the referenced version manifest in each directory entry. Each storage server maintains a local transaction log that keeps track of changes to the namespace manifest in response to put transactions. The namespace manifest can be updated after each put transaction is acknowledged, which minimizes the number of write operations required for a put transaction. Updates to the namespace manifest are batched, distributed, and processed concurrently and in parallel by the storage servers that store the corresponding shards. This reduces the latency that would otherwise exist in the object storage cluster as a result of a put transaction. Updates to namespace manifest shards optionally occur in a batch process using MapReduce techniques.

The unit of work includes an I/O request to access data located on a persistent storage control unit (SCU) that is external to the processor. It is determined that the I/O request should be serviced by a synchronous I/O. A synchronous I/O is initiated to the persistent SCU to service the I/O request based on determining that the I/O request should be serviced by a synchronous I/O. The unit of work is kept active while waiting for the synchronous I/O to complete. A notification that the I/O has completed is received and the unit of work is completed in response to receiving the notification.

A method and apparatus is described herein for accessing a physical memory location referenced by a physical address with a processor. The processor fetches/receives instructions with references to virtual memory addresses and/or references to physical addresses. Translation logic translates the virtual memory addresses to physical addresses and provides the physical addresses to a common interface. Physical addressing logic decodes references to physical addresses and provides the physical addresses to a common interface based on a memory type stored by the physical addressing logic.

This disclosure provides for improvements in managing multi-drive, multi-die or multi-plane NAND flash memory. In one embodiment, the host directly assigns physical addresses and performs logical-to-physical address translation in a manner that reduces or eliminates the need for a memory controller to handle these functions, and initiates functions such as wear leveling in a manner that avoids competition with host data accesses. A memory controller optionally educates the host on array composition, capabilities and addressing restrictions. Host software can therefore interleave write and read requests across dies in a manner unencumbered by memory controller address translation. For multi-plane designs, the host writes related data in a manner consistent with multi-plane device addressing limitations. The host is therefore able to “plan ahead” in a manner supporting host issuance of true multi-plane read commands.

A door locking device is applied to an electronic apparatus including a hinged door arranged in an opening portion of a casing. The door locking device includes a key cylinder and a pivot hook. When the door is closed and a movable element of the key cylinder is at a locked position, the pivot hook is caught on the casing to prevent the door from being opened. The door locking device further includes a rod member crank-coupled to the movable element of the key cylinder on an inner side of the door and configured to be displaced by interlocking with the movable element. When the door is closed and the movable element is at the locked position, a distal end (roller) of the rod member is held in contact with a rod receiving surface formed in the casing. Thus, the rod member keeps a closed state of the door.

A beam reinforcing metallic material includes a welding surface, a counter-flange-part surface, a contacting surface, a protrusion, and the like. The beam reinforcing material is a member that is made of metal such as steel for example. The beam reinforcing metallic material is not plate shaped but has a three dimensional shape. More particularly, the cross-sectional shape varies from the edge parts toward the center part in longitudinal direction. The cross section (cross-sectional area) of the center part of the beam reinforcing metallic material in longitudinal direction is larger than the cross sections (cross-sectional areas) of the both end parts. Increasing the cross-sectional area of the vicinity of the center part of the beam reinforcing metallic material allows the part that receives maximum stress to securely obtain the flexural strength when the beam reinforcing metallic material is fixed to the beam.
