The invention is directed to a method of cleaning and disinfecting a contact lens. The method includes instructing a consumer to disinfect their contact lens comprising the following steps: remove a contact from an eye and position the lens in a lens assembly that includes a cap member; add a disinfection solution to the lens case such that the lens is submerged in the solution upon closure of the lens case with the cap member. The disinfection solution will comprise 0.5 wt. % to 6 wt. % hydrogen peroxide or a chemical precursor of hydrogen peroxide, and a P-metal modulating compound. The presence of the P-metal modulating compound in the disinfection solution decreases the neutralization rate of the hydrogen peroxide. The disinfection system exhibits a pseudo first-order, half-life of hydrogen peroxide from 12 minutes to 30 minutes over an initial sixty minutes of neutralization following exposure of the disinfection solution to a catalyst comprising a P-metal. This reduction in rate of peroxide neutralization can provide a more effective solution for killing certain microorganisms and fungi.

Chemokine signaling is important in neuropathic pain, with microglial cells expressing CCR2 playing a well established key role. DAPTA, a gp120-derived CCR5 entry-inhibitor has been shown to inhibit CCR5-mediated monocyte migration and to attenuate neuroinflammation. We disclose here that as a stabilized analog of DAPTA, the short peptide All D TTNYT (SEQ ID NO:1) exhibits potent antagonism for both CCR2 (IC50 4.2 pM) and CCR5 (IC50 0.18 pM) in monocyte chemotaxis. Oral administration of All D TTNYT (SEQ ID NO:1) (0.05-1 mg/kg) for 7 days fully prevents mechanical allodynia and inhibits the development of thermal hyperalgesia following partial ligation of the sciatic nerve in rats. Administered from day 8 to day 12, All D TTNYT (SEQ ID NO:1) (0.2-1 mg/kg) reverses already established hypersensitivity. All D TTNYT (SEQ ID NO:1) relieves pain hypersensitivity probably through either or both CCR2 and CCR5, since by using genetically deficient animals, we demonstrated that in addition to CCR2, CCR5 is also required for the development of neuropathic pain. Moreover, All D TTNYT (SEQ ID NO:1) is able to reduce spinal microglial activation, monocyte infiltration, and to inhibit inflammatory responses evoked by peripheral nerve injury that cause chronic pain. Our findings suggests that the targeting CCR2/CCR5 should provide greater efficacy than targeting CCR2 or CCR5 alone and dual CCR2/CCR5 antagonist All D TTNYT (SEQ ID NO:1) has the potential for broad clinical use in neuropathic pain treatment.

[Problem] To provide a high-shelf hydroponic cultivation system equipped with a solar panel having a large power generation amount while ensuring light quantity for a plant.[Solution] Since the high-shelf hydroponic cultivation system 80 equipped with a solar panel has a light transmitting region A provided at the solar panel 50, more light can be taken into the frame unit and can be utilized for cultivating the plants P1 and P2. Since the double-sided light receiving solar cell 52 is employed for the solar panel 50 and light reflectivity is given to the floating bench 34, the weed-proof sheet 56, the vertical frame 20b and the like, light which does not shine on the plants P1 and P2 is reflected to a light receiving region on a rear face side of the double-sided light receiving solar cell 52 and can be effectively utilized for power generation. Thus, a large power generation amount can be obtained while ensuring light quantity for the plants.

This is an original design of a small diameter maple spile. It is designed to facilitate sap movement from any sap-producing tree into the tubing. Two o-rings provide additional sealing surfaces to safeguard against leaks and increase spile visibility. Design and material provide a more hygienic connection between the tree and tubing, compared to the connection of a larger spile, which is more easily contaminated. The small size diameter of the tap hole causes less damage to the tree and consequently allows swift healing. The smaller tap hole also promotes tree health by lessening risks of bacterial and fungal infection. The linear design of this spile allows for ease of cleaning by ultrasonic means and indefinite reuse.

A digital assistant operating on a device is configured to be engaged as an active participant in communications between local and remote parties by listening to voice and video calls and participating in messaging sessions. The digital assistant typically can be initiated by voice using a key word or phrase and then be requested to perform tasks, provide information and services, etc. using voice or gestures. The digital assistant can respond to the request and take appropriate actions. In voice and video calls, the interactions with the digital assistant (i.e., the request, response, and actions) can be heard by both parties to the call as if the digital assistant was a third party on the call. In a messaging session, messages are generated and displayed to each participant so that they can see the interactions with the digital assistant as if it was a participant.

Systems and methods for generating and managing stories and sub-stories presented to a user's client device are described. In one example embodiment, a server system communicates a portion of a first story to a first client device based on a first client device association with a user segment assigned to the first story. The server system receives a first selection communication associated with a first piece of content of the first story, accesses a second story based on the selection, and communicates a portion of the second story to the first client device.

One embodiment provides a system that facilitates a migration of a data model from a source device to a target device. During operation, the system generates, by a target device, a first interest for a first manifest which represents a version of the data model, wherein a manifest indicates a phase of the migration and a plurality of resources with corresponding names. The system transmits a first plurality of interests for the resources indicated in the first manifest based on a corresponding name. The system receives a second manifest, wherein the migration phase indicated in the second manifest is a stop-and-copy phase. The system transmits a second plurality of interests for the resources indicated in the second manifest based on a corresponding name. The system starts the data model on the system based on content objects retrieved in response to the first and second plurality of interests.

A method of handling event subscriptions and notifications may include receiving a request from a client system to subscribe to an event type, and receiving a template from the client system. The template may define data that should be returned to the client system when an event of the event type occurs. In response to the event of the event type occurring, the method may also include packaging data associated with the event according to the template received from the client system to generate an event notification. The method may further include sending the event notification to the client system.

A method and apparatus for sending a delivery notification of a network application-related product are provided. The method includes: selecting a delivery executing server in advance from multiple delivery servers of an application; acquiring quality of service information of the delivery executing server of the application; judging, according to a predefined judging rule, whether the quality of service information meets a requirement; and if the requirement is met, retaining the delivery executing server unchanged; otherwise, setting another delivery server of the application as a delivery executing server; and sending a delivery notification to a current delivery executing server of the application upon detecting the delivery notification of the application to be sent.

An Interactive Tracking Virtual World (ITVW) system, may be utilized with other systems accessible through the Internet and/or a communications network. The ITVW system may be operable as an online game and/or to provide a virtual environment. ITVW system users (i.e., ITVW users) may be individuals or groups, such as parents and/or their children, which utilize the ITVW system for tracking an identity within the ITVW system. The ITVW system may also include ITVW system participants (i.e., ITVW participants), such as commercial business establishments, individuals and/or other entities associated with the ITVW system. The ITVW system collects an ITVW user's location information and location history.

A connection publishing method for a distributed load balancer in which a router receives packets from at least one client and routes packet flows to multiple load balancer (LB) nodes, which in turn distribute the packet flows among multiple server nodes. A load balancer (LB) module on each server node determines and publishes a list of active connections between client(s) and the server (a connection publishing packet) back to the LB nodes. The LB module may randomly select a LB node to receive the packet. Upon receiving the packet, the LB node processes the connection information in the packet, distributing the connection information among appropriate LB nodes. Receiving the connection publishing information from the server nodes refreshes leases for the connections on the LB nodes.
