A cable driving a large system such as cable driven machines, cable cars or tendons in a human or robot is typically modeled as a large number of small segments that are connected via joints. The two main difficulties with this approach are satisfying the inextensibility constraint and handling the typically large mass ratio between the small segments and the larger objects they connect. This disclosure introduces a more effective approach to solving these problems. The introduced approach simulates the effect of a cable instead of the cable itself using a new type of distance constraint called ‘cable joint’ that changes both its attachment points and its rest length dynamically. The introduced approach models a cable connecting a series of objects as a sequence of cable joints, reducing the complexity of the simulation from the order of the number of segments in the cable to the number of connected objects.

According to embodiments described herein, the hierarchical complexity for coherence protocols associated with clustered cache architectures can be encapsulated in a simple function, i.e., that of determining when a data block is shared entirely within a cluster (i.e., a sub-tree of the hierarchy) and is private from the outside. This allows embodiments to eliminate complex recursive coherence operations that span the hierarchy and instead employ simple coherence mechanisms such as self-invalidation and write-through but which are restricted to operate where a data block is shared. Thus embodiments recognize that, in the context of clustered cache hierarchies, data can be shared entirely within one cluster but can be private (unshared) to this cluster when viewed from the perspective of other clusters. This characteristic of the data can be determined and then used to locally simplify coherence protocols.

A client system presents, within an execution environment of an application, a third-party media stream distinct from the application, received from a remote host server via a network. The client system detects interaction events during presentation of the third-party media stream, and transmits descriptions of the detected interaction events to the remote host server. The application may be pre-cued prior to presentation, e.g., to minimize start-up time. In some implementations, a side-band message channel is established to facilitate communication between the client system and the remote host server.

Disclosed herein are enhancements for deploying application in an edge system of a communication network. In one implementation, a runtime environment identifies a request from a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) accelerator service to be processed by an application. In response to the request, the runtime environment may identify an isolation resource to support the request, initiate execution of code for the application, and pass context to the code. Once initiated, the runtime environment may copy data from the artifact to the isolation resource using the context and return control to the HTTP accelerator service upon executing the code.

An information handling system includes a dual in-line memory module (DIMM) coupled to a memory controller via a memory channel. A processor during a first in time boot process of the information handling system determines a first environmental condition of the information handling system, and initializes the memory controller and the DIMM to determine a first set of initialization parameters for the memory controller and the DIMM. During a second in time boot process of the information handling system, the processor determines if a second environmental condition is different than the first environmental condition, if the second environmental condition is not different then to continue the second in time boot process without initializing the memory controller and the DIMM, and if the second environmental condition is different then to initialize the memory controller and the DIMM to determine a second set of initialization parameters for the memory controller and the DIMM.

Tracking and communication of direct/indirect source dependencies of producer instructions executed in a processor to source dependent consumer instructions to facilitate processor optimizations. The processor includes instruction processing circuit configured to process and execute fetched instructions in an instruction stream according to a dataflow execution. The instruction processing circuit includes mechanisms to communicate dependencies to dependent, consumer instructions in an instruction pipeline to facilitate processor optimizations, such as replay of consumer instructions. The instruction processing circuit is configured to track producer instructions and consumer instruction dependencies on its producer instructions in the instruction pipeline in a data structure circuit before the instructions are scheduled for execution. These recorded source dependencies in the source dependency indicators can then be communicated to later stages in the instruction pipeline, such as scheduling, to facilitate for example, replay of dependent consumer instructions, if for example, its producer instruction incurs a hazard.

A system and method for reducing the latency of data move operations. A register rename unit within a processor determines whether a decoded move instruction qualifies for a zero cycle move operation. If so, control logic assigns a physical register identifier associated with a source operand of the move instruction to the destination operand of the move instruction. Additionally, the register rename unit marks the given move instruction to prevent it from proceeding in the processor pipeline. Further maintenance of the particular physical register identifier may be done by the register rename unit during commit of the given move instruction.

There is provided an improvement for developing an application between an application server and one of multiple client devices where the application server is disposed remotely of the one of multiple client devices. In one example, an application behavior model (ABM) is produced and stored at the application server. Using an output corresponding with the one of multiple devices, program code for a client application is produced from a selected one of several configurable templates. Selected input, generated with the ABM and the program code, is received at the application server to cause a sequence of processing steps to be performed with the application server. In another example, the ABM is received at the one of multiple client devices, the one of multiple client devices including a user interface (UI). The ABM and client application are used to render a first page at the UI for providing an action identifier. The action identifier is sent to the application server for causing a sequence of processing steps to be performed with the application server. Pursuant to performing the sequence of processing steps, the ABM and client application conjunctively cause a second page to be rendered on the UI.

A computing system includes persistent storage configured to store definitions of actions for integration into workflows, and a software application configured to define an action that invokes a function of an application programming interface (API). The software application obtains a specification and identifies therein definitions of a uniform resource locator (URL) that addresses the API, the function, an input of the function, and an output of the function. The software application generates an input variable of the action that corresponds to the input of the function and an output variable of the action that corresponds to the output of the function. The software application determines a first mapping between the input variable and a URL parameter of the API and a second mapping between the output variable and a response from the API. The first and second mappings are stored in in the persistent storage to define the action.
