The invention relates to a rail vehicle having a drive control (A) for providing the required drive power for moving the rail vehicle forward, characterized in that the drive control (A) is connected to a limiter module (B) for limiting a drive power that can be called for via a human-machine interface (HMI) and the limiter module (B) determines a maximum value for the drive power that can be called for depending on travel data (FD) of the rail vehicle.
