A method of wireless communication at a base station in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure comprises determining a broadcast/multicast service to be provided to a user equipment (UE) in a multicast broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) area, and transmitting a tracking reference signal (TRS) to the UE, the TRS indicating information associated with receiving the broadcast/multicast service by the UE.
