In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a transmission power for an uplink shared channel communication based at least in part on at least one of a code rate parameter, a block length parameter, or a target block error rate parameter associated with the uplink shared channel communication. In some aspects, the user equipment may transmit the uplink shared channel communication using the transmission power based at least in part on determining the transmission power.
