摘要： Cleaning media based on liquid C02 and including from 0.01 to 5 % by weight of the formulation of a cleaning additive which is at least one C6 to C24 hydrocarbyl ester of a multi-carboxylic acid can be used in dry cleaning of textiles. Desirable cleaning additives are of the formula (1): R1(C02 R2 )n where R1 is the residue of a C1 to C10 hydrocarbyl group from which n hydrogen atoms have been removed, R2 is a C6 to C24 hydrocarbyl, particularly alkyl or alkenyl, group; and n is from 2 to 5; particularly C12 to C18 adipate esters.

Particular such agents are of the formula (I): [Pol]-(COX)m (I), where: Pol is the core residue of a polymerised fatty acid; m is 2 or 3.

摘要： Agrochemical compositions including compounds of the general formula (I): R?1-(R2)X1¿-[Link]-R3 where R1 is polyhydroxy hydrocarbyl; R2 is H or hydrocarbyl, or is a group as defined for R1; X1 is a nitrogen containing group as defined, Link is a linking group of the formula (II): -CH¿2?-CHOH-X?2¿- where X2 is as defined and R3 is hydrocarbyl, usually C¿6? to C30, hydrocarbyl. The compounds of the formula (I) can function as emulsifiers, dispersants or, and particularly, as adjuvants. The agrochemical can be a plant growth reguators, herbicides, and/or pesticides, for example insecticides, fungicides, acaricides, nematocides, miticides, rodenticides, bactericides, molluscicides and/or a bird repellent. Particularly useful formulations include water soluble herbicide(s), particularly such as Glyphosate, Sulfosate, Glufosinate and Paraquat. The invention further includes compounds of the formula (IIa): R?1-(R2)X1-[Link1]-R3¿ where R?1, R2, and R3¿ are as defined above for formula (I); and Link1 is a defined linking group; and compounds of the formula (IIb): R?1-(R2)X1a-[Link2]-R3¿ where R?1, R2, and R3¿ are as defined above for formula (I); X1a is a nitrogen containing group as defined and Link2 is a defined linking group.

The compounds are particularly suitable for use in preparing aqueous emulsions or dispersions of resins and polymers, especially alkyd resins.

摘要： The free radical initiated addition polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated, particularly acrylic monomers in which the dispersed phase is stabilised by a surfactant including at least one anionic surfactant compound of the formula (I): R1 - (OA)¿n? - X where R?1¿ is C¿16? to C22 hydrocarbyl including at least two double bonds; OA is oxyalkylene group; n is from 2 to 60; and X includes at least one acidic H atom, and is particularly a phosphate ester group, or a salt thereof, is described. The use of the surfactants of the formula (I) enable efficient emulsification and thus polymerisation at temperatures above those at which non-ionic unsaturated surfactants are effective. The polymer latex products give polymer films having good water resistance properties.
