An easily openable metallic can lid and a method of manufacturing the same, in which a guide groove in the can lid for opening is S-shaped in cross section to improve an opening property, generation of resin film defects in molding process is eliminated, and repair coating on inner and outer surfaces of the can lid is unnecessary. When an opening piece, which is easily opened by a hand of a user, is formed on the metallic can lid, a property of a resin film on a metallic sheet, shapes, dimensions and clearance of shoulders on a punch and a die, a retained thickness of a guide groove for opening, a degree of press-back work and the like are specified to form a guide groove for opening, which is S-shaped in cross section, without breaking the resin film, thereby attaining a superior opening property.

Provided is a hot-dip aluminum-coated carbon steel sheet for fuel tanks, which has a good welding gastightness and anticorrosion after forming. The hot-dip aluminum-coated carbon steel sheet comprises a carbon steel sheet, which contains C (0.003 % or less), Si (0.03 % or less), Mn (0.3 % or less), P (0.02 % or less), N (0.006 % or less), Ti (0.1 % or less), Nb plus Ti, which amount to at least an atomic equivalent of (C + N) and at most 0.2 % of (C + N), and B (1 to 30 ppm), and the remainder of Fe and an unavoidable impurities, and a coated layer, which contains Si (2 to 13 %) and the remainder of Al and an unavoidable impurities, and the steel sheet has a total elongation of at least 45 % after coating. Alternatively, the steel sheet may have a chromate film of 5 to 100 mg/m on surfaces thereof and may have a resin coat on an uppermost surface thereof. Accordingly, the aluminum-coated carbon steel sheet has a good elongation after aluminum-coating, so that it is considerably excellent in anticorrosion after forming as compared with a conventional one. Therefore, the steel sheet is optimum for automobile fuel tanks, due to an excellent welding gastightness in addition.

The present invention provides a steel sheet for a two-piece can characterized in that the equation, (N existing as AlN)/(N content)>0.5, is satisfied, the average diameter of AlN is in the range of 0.01 to 0.10 mu m, the ratio of the number of AlN with a diameter of 0.01 mu m or less to the number of AlN with a diameter of at least 0.005 mu m is 10% or less, the average diameter of MnS is in the range of 0.03 to 0.40 mu m, and the ratio of the number of MnS with a diameter of 0.03 mu m or less to the number of MnS with a diameter of at least 0.005 mu m is 50% or less. Further, by specifying chemical composition, slab reheating temperature and coiling temperature in hot rolling, and re-cold-rolling reduction ratio after annealing, a high yield of steel sheet and good can formability can be achieved, the wrinkle generation rate during neck diameter reduction after drawing, ironing and stretching can be reduced and, further, good properties can be obtained even processed at a low annealing temperature. Thus the production of a highly efficient steel sheet for a two-piece can capable of averting heat-buckle is made possible. Further, buckling generation at an annealing process, earing generation during cup forming and wrinkle generation during the diameter reduction of a can body opening can be avoided. And thus a steel sheet for a two-piece can with a thickness of 0.19mm or less can be provided.
