Provided is a high-strength galvanized steel sheet excellent in the coating adhesion and coating appearance of a worked portion. The high-strength galvanized steel sheet includes a cold-rolled steel sheet which has a specific composition and a microstructure having a martensite area ratio of 7% or more and less than 25% and a ferrite area ratio of 50% or more and which includes a base metal surface portion in which the amount of internal oxides per single side is 0.05 g/m 2 or less; an intermetallic compound, formed on the cold-rolled steel sheet, containing Al of 0.12 g/m 2 or more and 0.22 g/m 2 or less and Fe 2 Al 5 with an average grain size of less than 1.0 µm; and a galvanizing layer formed on the intermetallic compound. The galvanizing layer contains 0.3% ≤ Al% ≤ 0.6% (Al% represents the content (mass percent) of Al in the galvanizing layer) and has a surface roughness Ra of 0.8 µm or more and 1.6 µm or less and a glossiness (G value) of 550 or more and 750 or less. In the galvanizing layer, the zinc basal plane orientation ratio Zn (002)/(004) is 60% or more and 90% or less.

A surface-coated aluminum and zinc plated steel sheet in accordance with the present invention includes: a plated steel sheet; a composite coating film formed by applying an aqueous surface treatment agent on the plated steel sheet and drying the aqueous surface treatment agent. The aqueous surface treatment agent contains a water dispersible resin (A), a cobalt compound (B), and water, and has a pH within a range of 7.5 to 10. The composite coating film contains the water dispersible resin (A) and the cobalt compound (B). A percentage by mass of the water dispersible resin (A) in the composite coating film is 90% or more. A mass of the composite coating film per one surface of the plated steel sheet falls within a range of 0.5 to 3.5 g/m 2 .
