Said pole (14) houses a brake device (22) which serves to brake a rotor (12) and comprises a brake element (23) which via the magnetic field of the stator winding (20) can be adjusted against a brake force (33). According to the invention the brake element (23) is configured as a rocker which is eccentrically subjected to the brake force (33). Owing to the eccentric force application the brake element (23) can be arranged with a release arm (30) in the magnetic flux of the stator winding (20) in such a way that a high release torque can be obtained.
